I for one do not want to arrive in God’s Courts with filthy rags on, stinking of sin – before the God of the Universe. How ’bout you? Do you wear filthy robes – or have you been beautified with rich robes of forgiveness? God is able to take away all your past sinfulness — and place you in good standing with Him. No matter how grave your sin, no matter how long you sinned, no matter. No problem. He is able.
About Sin
Key truths about sin as taught in the Bible.
Psalm 51. Wash me. Cleanse me.
Psalm 51 is a Psalm by King David of Israel, written in confession and repentance after Nathan the prophet came to him, after he had seduced Bathsheba. He asked God, Wash me. Cleanse me.
Thief On The Cross
Thief On The Cross. Nothing religious was done by the thief. He merely (1) confessed his sinfulness, and (2) acknowledged Jesus as “the Christ”.
Mutual conversation
Good talk is fun! Put simply: It involves your mouth voicing words with your brain full on, your heart tuned to “nice“, and another talker involved – some listening ear understanding you, involved mutually in the conversation. If there is no understanding – then there is no communication. If it’s not mutual, then there is […]
God forgives sins by His Holy Holy Justice
What do you know about God, the most holy in the universe? Our Holy Holy Holy God was (and is) so opposed to anything not holy – that He volunteered to die in order to be able to save us all – you and me. THAT is truly the biggest Wonder of the Universe. God came to earth as a man, Jesus! His holy system of justice demanded holy justice. So He Himself went to the cross.
God’s Think
I think. You think. We all think. But, what does God think? Thinking is necessary. But what if your “think” is not God’s “think”? Then your “think” will end so very badly when you reach That Day of Judgement, quivering before God in the realization that it is His Think that rules the heavens, not yours. Read about God’s “think”. What you think – matters. How you act it out – matters more. It will seal your eternity – with Him, or without Him.
The Apostle Paul’s Criticisms
What’s the difference between a critical spirit – and the Apostle Paul’s Pauline criticisms (or Berean thinking). When is criticism okay?
Love forgives others
Love forgives. Plain and simple. Nothing less. Is your love acting, or “failing”? 1 Peter 4:8 Above all, have fervent and unfailing love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins [it overlooks unkindness and unselfishly seeks the best for others]. Got to have it: “have fervent and unfailing love”. Have it. Have […]
About past sins and being forgiven now
The very clear message of Christ is that sinners can be changed when they repent in sincerity and truth, choosing to become God’s true followers. You can have all your sinful past forgiven by God, and be totally accepted into His Forever Family immediately, both here on earth now – and in heaven where we are declared forgiven in His Courts. Don’t be fooled into hell by thinking your sin is legitimate before God.
Oh How Marvelous
Marvelous grace. To a sinner, what else could be so marvelous? God’s grace, that “un-merited” bestowing of a blessing on me. Just because of Him. Just because He chooses to do so within His Heavenly legal system.
Balancing-out my faith with my practice
Coming to God on your own terms is like… careening into court dipsy drunk to fight a DUI offense and thinking the judge will forgive you. The reality of God’s universe is — it’s not your universe. It behooves us to seek after God and get His word on things. Our thoughts are not His thoughts. My thoughts will not be consulted by God on That Day.
Quick and Harsh
We all do it. It is so easy. We jump to it! Each of us – we suddenly are harsh and unloving. We jump to judgment, condemning others around us. Our harsh words and attitudes come out of such lovely, innocent faces. We often draw conclusions without all the facts – and then shame and […]
Hell Fire Insurance
I have really tried to, but can’t seem to find in the Bible any reference to “Hell Fire Insurance”. Have you? That’s what some call it: where you can somehow “accept Jesus”, but then, well, all kinds of pressures push you away and back into sin… and you just continue there, blustering defiantly, defensively, when […]
Keeping Sin
The little verse of Psalm 66:18 teaches us a whole lot about God – and prayer. Just in this tiny verse we see: “If I regard wickedness in my heart, The Lord will not hear.” I am born again, and God has forgiven me of all my sins. However, on any given day or moment, if I come to Him in prayer AND am holding a sin, so to speak, or allowing a sin to have a place in my life — then, the Bible tells me: God will not give heed to what I say.
Habits of Love
Doing love from your soul. Your supposed “love” is not really love, if it is not actually “doing love”. You do actual acts of love. Love is active. We form habits by doing….
When talking choose nice
Do you know how to converse without offending? We can choose to talk nice words. How are you doing with that?
Entrance Granted Into the Eternal
There are many ways to live your life, many religions and philosophies of man, many faiths to follow. Whatever you call yours, we all become engrossed by it during our stay upon this globe. All these “ways” have their gatekeepers who welcome or guard the entrance into their paradise. But Jesus is the one and only gatekeeper of Heaven’s Gate. He is The One who grants entrance into the awesome Kingdom of Creator God.
Can Jesus Forgive You?
Tomorrow may never come for you. Are you ready for that? Are you too far gone for God to care? Jesus showed that He cares. Jesus saves sinners. He saved me. You can come to Him.
Through Grace and Sheer Mercy
Martin Luther was the one who first expressed it like this: “…I grasped that the righteousness of God is that righteousness by which through grace and sheer mercy God justifies us through faith.” Sheer mercy!
Christ’s Death
The atonement of Christ’s death on the cross – explained here in detail. To go deep, read the passages quoted.
Forgiveness By God
Anyone at anytime with sincerity and truth – can find forgiveness in Jesus for anything. The key word there? Sincerity. God sees the thoughts and intents of our heart. No foolin’ with God.
Legally Damned – Legally Forgiven
Are you still legally condemned before God? Or have you been legally set free forever?
The Roman Road
The Roman Road to Salvation is simply a compilation of verses in the book of Romans that clearly explains the message of salvation in Christ. Bible verses throughout the book of Romans present the good news of Jesus Christ: why we need Jesus’ forgiveness, what’s wrong with “sin”, why does God care, what do I […]
Imagine This
Imagine this: You yourself are observing God from a special vantage point, seeing things onfold – back in the day…. The God of All There Is, on His throne, governing all that exists, all of which He Himself created, has just created the first man, Adam, and the first woman, Eve. Your ancestors. And they […]
Lost I Came To Him
There is no hope without Creator God as Savior of our soul. I’m joyful, full of hope because – when I bowed my knee that day – He made me brand new. He lives in me!
Brand New Creature
I so totally love the truth taught by the Apostle Paul – about becoming “a brand new creature”. Read for yourself 2 Corinthians 5:17 ¨Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.¨ – 2 Corinthians 5:17 This is what happens when a […]
Oh what a day that will be!
Wow! To enter into the Kingdom of God – freely as His redeemed child. No cringing in shame, no shaking knees, sweating in fear, no burden of sinfulness before a Holy God. I can only imagine.
Jesus Paid It All
Before time, God was, and He was all there was. Then God created Man. God´s nature is perfect, inviolate, greater than any other. He was (and is) Justice, and His system was (and is) unchangeable. Then Man sinned.
Should you forgive even though no confession is made?
Some say yes, that you should forgive those who do not ask forgiveness. Others say no, that the person should not be forgiven until they repent and then you can forgive them. Those that say you should forgive an unrepentant person use verses like Colossians 3:13 that say, “Bear with each other and forgive whatever […]
