Joy is a deep seated contentment. – Dennis Swick
Because of what Jesus has done for me I now have joy that is inexpressible and glorious (1 Peter 1:8).
“Though you have not seen Him, you love Him; and though you do not even see Him now, you believe and trust in Him and you greatly rejoice and delight with inexpressible and glorious joy”
When a sinner repents, there is great joy in Heaven (Luke 15:7,10).
“there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who have no need of repentance.” v9
“there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents [that is, changes his inner self—his old way of thinking, regrets past sins, lives his life in a way that proves repentance; and seeks God’s purpose for his life].” v10
When I go to heaven I will enter into the joy of the Lord (Matthew 25:23).
23 His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful and trustworthy over a little, I will put you in charge of many things; share in the joy of your master.’
My sorrow will be turned into joy (John 16:22).
No man will take my joy from me (John 16:22).
22 So for now you are in grief; but I will see you again, and [then] your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take away from you your [great] joy.”
The Lord rejoices over you with shouts of joy (Zephaniah 3:17-18).
“The Lord your God is in your midst,
A Warrior who saves.
He will rejoice over you with joy;
He will be quiet in His love [making no mention of your past sins],
He will rejoice over you with shouts of joy.
Psalm 95:1
O come, let us sing joyfully to the Lord;
Let us shout joyfully to the rock of our salvation.
