Small gods, and our great big beautiful God
The power of God
Almighty God is extremely powerful – to the inth. As puny humans we really can’t grasp the whole of who He is. But He has revealed Himself sufficiently to us in the Bible for us to trust in Him.
9 If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just [true to His own nature and promises], and will forgive our sins and cleanse us continually from all unrighteousness [our wrongdoing, everything not in conformity with His will and purpose].
– 1 John 1:9
Jesus came to earth and showed us His benevolent nature. And because God is The Almighty — we can be confident that when He declares it, it is secure in Him. We cannot “lose” what God secures!
Getting born again
The message of God to us sinners is beyond simple: Freely “admit that we have sinned” and confess it to God, repenting of our wrong. That’s it – salvation in Christ. Then Jesus saves.
Saved through Christ
We know He surely will keep His promises to save us. We don’t save ourselves! He’s the One. Jesus Himself said to us:
Scripture (the Bible) never (nowhere) teaches that a born again follower of Jesus can ever lose their salvation. Though we believers will be called to account for our actions (2 Corinthians 5:10), all our sins are forgiven forever.
What God keeps secured
You cannot “lose” what God keeps secured for us:
That is because God’s grace is bigger than all of our sins (Ephesians 2:8-9).
That is because His Salvation is guaranteed by God Almighty Himself. Now THAT is sure! (Romans 8:28-39)
That is because His Forgiveness is a permanent act of God, not an act of mere puny humans (John 3:16-18).
That is because He holds us securely in His salvation. He promised none would be lost (John 10:28).
That is because God cannot lie. His promises are true and reliable (Hebrews 6:18).
18 so that by two unchangeable things [His promise and His oath] in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled [to Him] for refuge would have strong encouragement and indwelling strength to hold tightly to the hope set before us.
19 This hope [this confident assurance] we have as an anchor of the soul [it cannot slip and it cannot break down under whatever pressure bears upon it]—a safe and steadfast hope that enters within the veil [of the heavenly temple, that most Holy Place in which the very presence of God dwells] – Verses 18-19 of Hebrews 6:17-20
12 …I am persuaded [beyond any doubt] that He is able to guard that which I have entrusted to Him until [a]that day [when I stand before Him]. – 2 Timothy 1:12
Clinging Desperately?…not a chance!
After all these years, we are not saved by clinging desperately. Stand strong. Yes I can. But, we know His Word says – He holds us firmly in His Hands.
I am working to “finish well”, but not because I fear losing it. I keep focused on growing in my faith – not out of fear, but rather: so I will hear that “well done”
His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful and trustworthy over a little, I will put you in charge of many things; share in the joy of your master.’ – Matthew 25:21
See: Can I become unsaved for any reason?
What kind of God do you think He is? The real God is honest and keeps His Word. We can trust Him.
I trust God to hold up His Word. I know I will kneel before my blessed Redeemer on That Day (2 Corinthians 5:10), and then, with joy bubbling like a brook, keep saying a billion billion times, “Thank you Jesus. Thank you Jesus.”
God Promises To Save Eternally
Jesus Himself said,
9 I am the Door; anyone who enters through Me will be saved [and will live forever], and will go in and out [freely], and find pasture (spiritual security). – Verse 9 of John 10
14 I am the Good Shepherd, and I know [without any doubt those who are] My own and My own know Me [and have a deep, personal relationship with Me]— 15 even as the Father knows Me and I know the Father—and I lay down My [very own] life [sacrificing it] for the benefit of the sheep. 16 I have [e]other sheep [beside these] that are not of this fold. I must bring those also, and they will listen to My voice and pay attention to My call, and they will become [f]one flock with one Shepherd. – Verses 14-16 of John 10.

If you are not truly His
The Good Shepherd, Jesus, knows the future. You think? He knows your heart. He knows your sincerity or lack thereof.
If you are not honest with Him, then He sees that, sees your fickle, deceiving heart. Who you trying to fool? Won’t happen with God.
Given-over, not sinless
When The Shepherd speaks of “my own” sheep (John 10 – verse 14), He knows they are 100% given over to Him. Not 100% sinless, but 100% given-over. He knows their heart is His.
That Moment in Time
We are saved in the very moment we call on Him with sincerity and truth. No delays, no exceptions, no “but but buts…” whatsoever.
Back in that very moment in time – we were saved forever. Period. “Finito.” Done. “Hecho.”
If you were not saved, well then, that’s a different matter. There is no better time than “now” time: now is the time. Accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior.

27 The sheep that are My own hear My voice and listen to Me;
I know them, and they follow Me. 28 And I give them eternal life,
and they will never, ever [by any means] perish; and no one will ever snatch them out of My hand.
29 [i]My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater and mightier than all; and
no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. 30 I and the Father are One [in essence and nature].” – John 10:27-30
