Hanging in the balance
It may sound cliché, but, your life is hanging in the balance right this moment. You know what I mean. Eternity really is at stake!
Friends at church experienced this first-hand last week. A week ago their Dad slumped-over in the church service –

was rushed to the hospital, and he died. The very next week – same thing with a brother. He died …just-like-that. Gone. So sad.
You absolutely want to be ready to meet your Maker. Now.
What you say and know and how you’ve lived? That will not save you. All your knowledge – neither.
What saves forever?
Only personally accepting the forgiveness Jesus offers — and following Him day by day. No ifs, ands, or but’s.
No “ya buts”. No arguing with God, like: “Ya but…I was really a nice guy!” That doesn’t fit the bill with Holy God.
It’s over when it’s over. And then?…there you are on the other side.
I’ll be shouting for joy on that day. Because I’m ready now. How ’bout you?

“Words are easy. Saying a prayer is easy. But “following” is the clincher. If we do not follow Christ, then our words are false. What path are you on?”
James 2:26

That moment of IF when you choose your own thinking
Specific salvation parameters Jesus absolutely requires…your “ya buts” – those will not fit the bill
Arguing with God…who wins in the end, anyway? Only the fool rebuffs God.
King Solomon’s Fool…Only the fool rebuffs God. Don’t be a fool. Excerpt: Solomon said, if you are not following “wisdom”, then you are one or more of several not so wise types….

Passing on through to the other side…oops, there you are on the other side. Excerpt:
* The mere human passes over into darkness and judgement.
John 3:3
“Truly, truly, I say to you,
unless one is born again
he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
* The born again, those who’ve been transformed by new birth in Christ – pass on over into the light of God’s presence.
