Draft One. This is a work-in-progress. Come back for more as I develop my pact with God.
In recognition of God as my Creator, my Father in Heaven,
in affirmation of my relationship to Him as His born again child,
rejoicing in my “new creation” in Christ, that Jesus is my Savior,
I make this pact between the God of the Bible, and myself.
In order to keep it clear in my mind and for my daily walk;
in order to clearly understand who I am, what I am, what I will do with my life here on earth;
to more clearly see why I do what I do, my motivations, aspirations, and goals;
in light of my many limitations of the flesh, and my enormous strengths in Christ;
— I hereby make the following statements as “My Pact with God”:
The Truth Is…
1. I will live eternally.
God made me and has a wonderful plan for my eternity, therefore I will live each day with “eternity’s values in view”. I will order my priorities to be inline more with eternity, rather than so focused on “the here and now”.
I thank God for the privilege of my existence. And Jesus wants us to live it “to the full, till it overflows”. He said,
But there is more to come. And wow, is it better!
16 “For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His [One and] [a]only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Savior] shall not perish, but have eternal life.” – John 3:16
I refuse to live my “here and now” as if it’s all I got. My “here and now” is not “my here forever”. This life is brief. I’ve been promised more than just this earthly life. My life here and now will be my “proving ground” to God, showing Him daily, moment by moment – that He alone is my all-in-all. (Song: All for Jesus! All for Jesus)
It is absolutely insane, really stupid, to live for “the here and now”. It is only maybe 70-90 some years of my existence. That would be like stopping at the toilet before the entrance to the resort — and never getting out of the toilet! Just pacing around in there, sitting there… and never enjoying the resort itself, which is just steps away. How ridiculous is that picture?
I choose to live for the greatest impact on my forever years in eternity! Not now. Not here. But for then! Living for “the here and now” is like flushing your eternity down the toilet. How stupid is that?!
The Truth Is…
2. Now is my only chance.
I do not know how many more breathes I will be allowed to breath while here on Earth. I have very little control over that.
I do however have volition, the power of choice. God created me with this huge game changer: my will. He made me with the power of my very own autonomous will.
I really am “the master of my ship”. Nobody else rules my will.
As a born again believer – I may be servant, slave or employee, but nobody lives in the cavern of my mind but me and the Holy Spirit. So I am slave to none in that realm. I refuse to give over my “will” and become a slave.
Now is my only chance to prove to God that He is truly Lord and Savior of my life. If I do not do that here, then I’m not His at all, forever not His at all. It may be years, but who knows if its merely months or weeks or days or minutes left till I see Him face to face. If I do not freely choose Him now, I stay a slave to the enemies of my soul, “the world, the flesh, and the Devil”.
The Truth Is…
3. Jesus died and rose again – to save sinners just like me.
So, because now is my only chance to denounce “the world, the flesh, and the Devil” – I do so now: I give my all to only One, The One and only: Jesus the Christ, Messiah, Son of God, Maker of Heaven and Earth. In repentance I turn away from all my sin and trust in Jesus to forgive me and make me His forgiven sinner. I give my life to Him, to live for Him.
This is my driving force of thought:
“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.” – Luke 10:27
I need not tremble, I need not fear. In that very moment in time when I trusted Him to save me – He Himself made me brand new inside. I’m no longer a slave to sin [song], living under the condemnation which God the Judge declared over us all. I’ve been forgiven. He has declared me “Forgiven”.
I am a child of The King. His child. No mere human. I’m brand new. Christ is my personal Savior. He is the Redeemer of my soul which was lost. He is the Invincible Champion in my everyday life – vanquishing all evil spirits and powers and dominions in the spiritual world (Daniel 7:27; Colossians 1:16; Romans 8:38-39).
I will never ever again be placed under condemnation by Almighty God. For it is He who has saved me, not me myself. 1
As I live little by little to be more and more like Him, His forgiveness lasts, and lasts, and lasts — to the end of my days, at which time our time will be no more, and we’ll live forever in His Kingdom, perfect, without stain. What a hope! Oh what a day that will be!
“Death is swallowed up in victory
(vanquished forever).
55 O death, where is your victory?
O death, where is your sting?”….
– 1 Corinthians 15:53-58
The Truth Is…
4. I am enough – in Jesus.
The cross is empty. The tomb is empty. Jesus completed His mission on earth.
Because God Himself made me brand new inside – I am enough now for all eternity. Holy Spirit of God lives in me.
He requires no more of me to enter His Kingdom. Entrance has been granted. See: Romans 8:1, 38
This is what happens when a person accepts Christ Jesus as Messiah, Savior: The moment I repented and accepted Christ as my Savior, He
-
- legally forgave my sins,
- removed all condemnation,
- promised me eternal life – and
- changed me totally – within.

“Who I am is not “what I’m going through”.
Who I am is a constant:
I am a child of the King,
an heir to The Throne,
and nothing I’m going through
can make me less.
Nothing can take me away
from His love for me.”

Footnotes
- “That act of becoming born again — is an act of God upon our life. We don’t do it — He does it! And that is why it will never be undone. The true believer was made so by God, and God promises that His “rebirthing” (“have been reborn from above“-v3) sets us apart forever. From that moment in time we are “forever creatures”, eternal, never to be separated from His love!” – From the article: Watch out for the dogs!.
