I totally believe in the promise: once saved always saved. After all, THAT is what the Bible teaches. 1
However…. There is power in the words. Read it again: once saved….
Were you, really? Were you ever even saved in the first place?
Did you actually GET SAVED? You may NOT have been saved. And that would make your reliance on that promise – a non sequitur as the Latin puts it.
See MerWeb non sequitur: an inference that does not follow from the premises: “it does not follow.” Specifically – a fallacy resulting from a simple conversion of a universal affirmative… proposition or from the transposition of a condition and its consequent…. A statement (such as a response) that does not follow logically from or is not clearly related to anything previously said.
Now THAT is a mouthful.
There is a chance that you were not, when you thought you were. That is a deadly misunderstanding – eternally deadly, if you catch my drift. Don’t miss out because of your non sequitur mentality. Saved because you said a few religious words?
“it does not follow.”
I am so very concerned for Christian folk these days. People live so deeply into their own thinking – they miss the details God has given us. Look back into your heart in that moment of confession:
Was your confession accepted by God?…you think?
What was it like – your confession to Jesus?…was your confession a non sequitur?
If you did not think like God Almighty thinks… then you could have easily missed God’s meaning when He said you will be saved…. The term “Believe in the Name of Jesus” carries the Greek meaning. It’s not the modern sense of
“Oh yeah – totally, I believe in that. Jesus was a great man.
I’m working on getting better.”
It’s like asking a pedestrian where to go…. If you miss his turn “right” and you turn “left” then you miss what he meant… and you end up lost as lost can be.
Absolute followance…not sinless but sold-out 100%
Have you missed God’s grace because you missed God’s whole point? His point is: follow Him. We can’t add preferences, chutzpah, new revelations and such to what He already wrote. If we do, then it is no longer His Way. It’s our way.
His Salvation is very specific. We can’t make up our own specifics our own way and expect Heaven…. Pay attention to the specific words of Jesus — if we want His gracious salvation He promises. His salvation comes absolutely by His Way only.
Excerpt from Believe in the Name of Jesus
To accept anything less than “all that Jesus Christ is and does”… is to stop short of getting saved. God requires all, not just pieces of us. Are you holding-back on God? Or: Are you 100% sold-out to the true Jesus?
There are an awful lot of people who supposedly accepted Christ as Savior, or are into one sect or another, and think they are “saved”, but they are actually on a broad road that says heaven but goes to hell. Don’t get to walkin’ that road.
Get over it!
If you have been on that wide road all this time, get off it! Stop with the phoney baloney false ways that God disapproves of. There is still time to get yourself on the straight and narrow – by accepting all that Jesus Christ is and does. THAT does save.

Accepting all that Jesus Christ is and does Excerpt: Are you one of those that says one thing and does another? Have you thought about that lately? Jesus said “If anyone wishes to follow Me [as My disciple], he must deny himself….” He has specific parameters for salvation. Nothing less is acceptable to Jesus.
They were not really of us…“not of us”
Getting born again…He loved us so much that He provided legal forgiveness for any who choose to follow Him.
God’s message to the world…giving all of you – for all of Him. Nothing less is good enough for our Holy Holy Holy God.
Staying Alive…If the core of your being rejects parts and pieces of what Christ taught, then you have no salvation.

Promises God makes about your salvation
What God does to prepare you for Heaven Excerpt:
What God did to each of us
Because sin separates us from Holy God, God Himself had to do something to remedy our “no-win” existence. God condemned us all to Hell because of sin. Yet because He loved us so much, He then provided a way to forgive us of all our sin (John 3:16-17) and make us ready for Heaven.
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God [that is, His remarkable, overwhelming gift of grace to believers] is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Without a holy intervention by God, we are all God Damned. That is why God came down to earth – essentially: to intervene on our behalf… to undamn us. So you are still damned, unless you’ve been undamned through Jesus.
