Have you been experiencing gossip “the other way around”? Giving it, receiving it?
Gossip “the other way around” would be to hear good things about yourself from other people. Gossiping “the other way around” would be to speak well of another person. “The other way around” is “encouraging words”.
What if
we made it a habit
to tell people
encouraging tidbits
about themselves?
Give the ones around you — the opposite of gossip. Speak encouraging words like:

~ I wish I were as cheerful as you are.
~ You know? I want to be more like you. You are such a nice person.
~ Thank you for being who you are.
~ You, ___, uplift my spirit. Thanks for that.
~ You are so joyful.
~ You are so refreshing to talk to.
~ You exude kindness and acceptance. Thanks for that.
The tongue has the power! With our speech we can bless and curse. We can gossip or encourage. We can lie or speak truth.

Which is it going to be? Nice or nasty? Speech is a choice. We choose a curse to give, or we choose a blessing to bestow.
Gossip can be: a bad report about someone, ridicule, gaslighting MerWeb – psychological manipulation, insinuation, shaming, put-down, gossiping, negativism, lies, falsehoods, half truths, harsh words, sharp daggers, snide remarks, counterproductive words, hatefulness. Gossip possibilities are endless, unfortunately.

Where to speak good talk
Stop the gossip. Speak love and encouragement into the soul of another: your spouse, your family members, your friends, the stranger you meet, your pastor, your local police on the street, your teacher at school, your coach….
Self-talk is a place in your mind – and you can speak encouragement and strength there, into your own soul. Tried that? Encourage yourself with how you speak in your head about you.
Talking to Jesus
We can pray our self-talk to God, with good talk. Talk to Him – for yourself and for others. Conversations with God — what a good talk that can be. Talk along your walk each day – with God-talk in your mind (because He hears and knows your thoughts). God like that.
1 Thessalonians 5:17
pray without ceasing
