The reason why the Mormons practiced polygamy in the first place was because of a belief that Joseph Smith had about God. It is known that Joseph Smith had 34 wives.

Oh what a day that will be!

Wow! To enter into the Kingdom of God - freely as His redeemed child. No cringing in shame, no burden of sinfulness before Almighty Holy God. I can only imagine.
