Just wanted to express my condolences. I am so sorry for the recent loss of your wife, Tom. I can only imagine the loss, as I am close to your age and still married after forty two years together. What consoles me, throughout my life, is my faith that God cares about me, is actively involved in my life, and is preparing a place for me in heaven.
My worldview is not focused merely on this short time frame of life and death, but takes in the broader connection of now and our eternity that follows. Jesus Christ assures me that when I leave this earth, I am instantly in the presence of God, at peace, with joy everlasting. That is my hope, and I understand that was the faith of your wife.
