How peaceful, lying here at night, knowing all is well with Christ my Lord. What an incredibly peaceful, easy feeling I have in my inner soul.
The Bible tells me I am right with God. I have been born again. I am a new creature now, changed by God, made brand new — and I have nothing to fear, for God is my Savior. There is nothing more I need, for God Himself has made me His child.
The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want…. – Psalm 23
I come into God’s presence through prayer whenever I want to, because He has an open door policy. Anytime of the day or night – I open my heart to Him and I find rest and peace, confident that my God is with me.
6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all [a]comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. – Philippians 4:6-7
Creator God cares about me. This little speck of dust in the universe called “me”, is actually important to God. Wow. I am not insignificant. He died on the cross so I can be put right with Him. What peace that gives me at all times.
16 Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. – Hebrews 4:verse 16
My heart is full of confidence, because God abides in me through His Holy Spirit.
4 Such confidence we have through Christ toward God. 5 Not that we are adequate in ourselves to consider anything as coming from ourselves, but our adequacy is from God, 6 who also made us adequate as servants of a new covenant – 2 Corinthians 3:verses 4-6
This is a “hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast….” – Hebrews 6:19
All is well with my soul because my sins are not counted against me. I stand holy and complete in Christ (positionally), and even though I constantly fall and come short of God’s righteous standards, Christ tells me in His Word (the Bible) that I am forgiven.
3 Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 [a]Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. 3 For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory. – Colossians 3:1-4 (NASB)
When Creator God looks at me, He effectively sees the perfection of Christ, because positionally I am “hidden” in Christ:
For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God (v3)
My sins are removed. Gone! Not held against me… because Creator God is full of an unfathomable love towards me, towards all who have been reborn in Christ.
As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us. – Psalm 103:12
8 The Lord is compassionate and gracious,
Slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness.
9 He will not always strive with us,
Nor will He keep His anger forever.
10 He has not dealt with us according to our sins,
Nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.
11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
So great is His lovingkindness toward those who [a]fear Him.
12 As far as the east is from the west,
So far has He removed our transgressions from us.
13 Just as a father has compassion on his children,
So the Lord has compassion on those who [b]fear Him.
14 For He Himself knows [c]our frame;
He is mindful that we are but dust.
15 As for man, his days are like grass;
As a flower of the field, so he flourishes.
16 When the wind has passed over it, it is no more,
And its place acknowledges it no longer.
17 But the lovingkindness of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who [d]fear Him… –Psalm 103:8-17
My sins are …as if they had never been done. They are so far removed that …they no longer exist. God does not count them against me. In His legal heavenly court – they have been removed, blotted-out, and I stand before Him “just as if I had never sinned”.
14 For by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are [g]sanctified. 15 And the Holy Spirit also testifies to us; for after saying,
16 “This is the covenant that I will make with them
After those days, says the Lord:
I will put My laws upon their heart,
And on their mind I will write them,”
“He then says,
17 “And their sins and their lawless deeds
I will remember no more.” – Hebrews 10: verses 14-17
That is justification. That is how great Creator God is.
What regret and humbleness I feel when I remember. But thank God He can forgive. Thank God His love is greater than all my sins.
19 Therefore, brethren, since we have confidence to enter the holy place by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way which He inaugurated for us through the veil, that is, His flesh, 21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near with a [h]sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful; 24 and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, 25 not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near. – Hebrews 10:verses 19-25
There is no other counsel needed for my soul to be at rest. He is my eternal comfort and hope:
16 Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself
and God our Father,
who has loved us
and given us eternal comfort
and good hope
by grace,
17 comfort and strengthen your hearts
in every good work and word.
– 2 Thessalonians 2: verses 16-17
