I beat my wife up everyday
that keeps her sweet and able
she meets each day content and stable
the world in fray at bay
I make it happen
beat her up, get out of bed
each morning I am there
and she is there
the coffee’s hot, we chat, we share
we gently start the day together
peaceful, strong
and ready for the day
That’s why I beat her when I can
first to get up out of bed
I make it happen
so each day she’s enabled
safe, secure, laughing, playful
peaceful, strong and each day steady
ready for the day before her
I make it happen
so I can go and beat her
get on up before she wakes
I don’t want her to eat alone
it’s dark out, oh so cold
A lazy man can stay asleep
and let his wife go beat him
she’s off to work before he wakes
alone to meet the world that day
but I get up before she wakes
So when I can I beat her
I watch the clock to beat her up
I don’t want her to eat alone
each day she walks on out to work
it’s dark out, oh so cold
So every day I get on up
so I can sweetly beat her
every morning I am there
and she is there
we eat we chat we share our moments
start up our day together
The world – it’s not an easy place
harder still to live alone
we live much better sharing, caring
being there to help, support
laughing, playful
together safe, secure
trusting, accepting
appreciated for who she is
for who I am
I make it happen
beat her up, get out of bed
each morning I am there
and she is there
the coffee’s hot, we chat, we share
we gently start the day together
peaceful, strong
and ready for the day
Denise delights the ones who know her
always cheerful, works so able
she’s most always – able Mable
That’s why I beat her when I can
first to get up out of bed
I make it happen
so each day she’s able Mable
safe, secure, laughing, playful
peaceful, strong and each day steady
ready for the day before her
I’ll not be hinged upon my bed
a door hinged on its frame
I make it happen – beat her up – get out of bed
we start the day together.

Proverbs 4:23
Above all else, guard your affections. For they influence everything else in your life.
Proverbs 26:13-16 Living Bible (TLB)
13 The lazy man won’t go out and work. “There might be a lion outside!” he says. 14 He sticks to his bed like a door to its hinges! 15 He is too tired even to lift his food from his dish to his mouth! 16 Yet in his own opinion he is smarter than seven wise men.
Proverbs 26:13-16
Amplified Bible (AMP)
13 The lazy person
[who is self-indulgent and relies on lame excuses]
says, “There is a lion in the road!
A lion is in the open square
[and if I go outside to work I will be killed]!”
14 As the door turns on its hinges,
So does the lazy person on his bed
[never getting out of it].
15 The lazy person buries his hand in the dish
[losing opportunity after opportunity];
It wearies him to bring it back to his mouth.
16 The lazy person is wiser in his own eyes
Than seven [sensible] men who can give a discreet answer.
Romans 12:9-13
9 Love is to be sincere and active [the real thing—without guile and hypocrisy]. Hate what is evil [detest all ungodliness, do not tolerate wickedness]; hold on tightly to what is good. 10 Be devoted to one another with [authentic] brotherly affection [as members of one family], give preference to one another in honor; 11 never lagging behind in diligence; aglow in the Spirit, enthusiastically serving the Lord; 12 constantly rejoicing in hope [because of our confidence in Christ], steadfast and patient in distress, devoted to prayer [continually seeking wisdom, guidance, and strength], 13 contributing to the needs of God’s people, pursuing [the practice of] hospitality.
