When we accept Christ, the whole universe becomes our family domain! We become a child of Creator God.
In an instant, in that very moment when we confess to God and repent of our sinfulness, and acknowledge Jesus as Lord of our life, Creator God Himself cancels His decree of condemnation against us in His Court — and we are born again, made a brand new creature inside.
Our new life, spirit and soul, begins eternal life as the Holy Spirit of God, part of the “three in one” mysterious Triune God, takes up residence in our body. The Holy Spirit in us seals God’s New Covenant promising us eternal life in Christ.
A primary question for all who call themselves “Christian”: Is the Holy Spirit inside you? If not, you are not born again! You are not “a Christian”, but merely a wannabee. Jesus said, “You must be born again….” (John 3: verse 7)
The second question is: Is the Holy Spirit guiding, leading, and empowering you every day, every way… along your way? If not, we all should be learning to yield to Him more — and wanting to learn more about the Spirit of God within us!
The third question is: Are you all in, or not? It’s a very dangerous thing — fooling with God. Are you genuinely given over to Him, or are you really just doing your own thing, holding-back, half-hearted? He knows our innermost thoughts.
Have you examined your heart lately? Is this you, your type of love for God?
“You shall love the Lord your God
with all your heart,
and
with all your soul,
and
with all your strength,
and
with all your mind;
and
your neighbor as yourself.”
– Luke 10:27
(Also: Matthew 22:37; Mark 12:30)
That’s a lot! “All”
What’s your love like — for God Almighty? I am reminded of the rich young ruler: he sought-out Jesus, looked Him up, talked to Him. But then he walked away because he was sold-out on riches. That man would not give it up. He would not give it all to Jesus. He was holding back a part of himself, and walked away.
The decision to follow Christ — is not a whimsical, “well, okay… I guess so”, “can’t hurt…” type of mental game one plays. This type is a choice of a lifetime! Following Christ, confessing your sinfulness and acknowledging Christ as Messiah and Lord — is an “all in” total commitment. Are you in, or are you out?
Don’t be the type that Jesus warned about, the type that comes before Him in His Court “when all of life is over and our work on earth is done…” and Jesus says as Judge, “Depart from Me. I never knew you.” (Matthew 7: verses 21-23). If you find yourself in front of Jesus on That Day, you’ll know your goose is cooked Quora.
Think about it. You’ll be a dead duck for sure, for ever. Game over. You’re a goner. In for it now. Caput. Forever without the goodness of God.
