Imagine a personal friend so close he is available instantly. Anytime anywhere he will help you with anything on your mind. What if this “instantaneous friend” 1 has a continuous presence in you, a connection inside you, to understand you?
Romans 8:15
For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading again to fear [of God’s judgment], but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons [the Spirit producing sonship] by which we [joyfully] cry, “Abba! Father!”

And because you [really] are [His] sons, God has sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying out, “Abba! Father!”
This friend wants to help you. He has promised never to leave you helpless and alone.
Hebrews 4:16 Amplified Bible (AMP) 16 Therefore let us [with privilege] approach the throne of grace [that is, the throne of God’s gracious favor] with confidence and without fear, so that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find [His amazing] grace to help in time of need [an appropriate blessing, coming just at the right moment].
This friend cares so much about you and me, and is so powerful.
Ephesians 3:20 Amplified Bible (AMP)
20 …Him who is able
to [carry out His purpose and]
do superabundantly more than
all that we dare ask or think
[infinitely beyond
our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams],
according to His power
that is at work within us…
You can, at any time, anywhere, ask Him to change your life and give you freedom. He is the sustaining water of life – a forever life.
Revelation 22:17 Amplified Bible (AMP)
17 The [Holy] Spirit and the bride (the church, believers) say, “Come.” And let the one who hears say, “Come.” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wishes take and drink the water of life without cost.
Jesus is your friend. Master of the Universe, He came to earth as a simple man in order to enable you to enjoy life – forever, instead of being enslaved by what so easily traps you and gets you down. 2
Like with any friendship — following Jesus is a choice. Choose to leave your own way, and follow His way. Whosoever will… may come:
John 3:15-16 Amplified Bible (AMP)

16 “For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His [One and] only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Savior] shall not perish, but have eternal life.
