My needy, needy soul needs to stay close to Creator God who formed me. We all do, wouldn’t you agree? We tend to be The Dumbass Lamb (Verses in one link or: Psalm 119:176; Isaiah 53:6; Matthew 10:16), living spiritually defenseless lives.
In Genesis the Bible explains that we were all made by God from the same dust of the earth. In actuality, we are all alike: we need Him.
Genesis 2:7
Then the Lord God formed the man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and the man became a living person.
Genesis 1:26-31, verses 26-28
26 Then God said, “[a]Let Us make mankind in Our image, according to Our likeness; and [b]let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the livestock and over all the earth, and over every crawling thing that crawls on the earth.”
27 So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
28 God blessed them; and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that [c]moves on the earth.”
What I need inside my soul
God our Maker is still very involved in His creation, still. He desires to be intimately involved. Acts 17:28 teaches us:
“for in Him we live and move and [u]exist” (NASB version);
“that is, in Him we actually have our being” (Amplified version).
Acts 17:25-28 (NASB version)
…He Himself gives to all people life and breath and all things; 26 and He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth,
having determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation, 27 that they would seek God,
if perhaps they might feel around for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us;
28 for in Him we live and move and [u]exist….
Why were we, each one of us, created? (Psalm 139:1-18; Psalm 139:13) In Acts 17:27 we find an answer: “…that they would seek God“.
The soul that is rightly related to God, is favored by God (Psalm 1) and will have peace and joy (Luke 2:10; Luke 6:21; Luke 6:22) flowing from deep inside their insides. He wants us to prosper in all we do (Psalm 1:3).
But, if we do not have God intimately involved inside our soul, there will be a constant restlessness, a constant lack of contentedness. You living without God in the center of your life? How’s that working out for you?
How involved with God do you want to be? He says, “Draw near to me, and I will draw near to you.” (James 4:8)
16 Therefore let us [with privilege] approach the throne of grace [that is, the throne of God’s gracious favor] with confidence and without fear, so that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find [His amazing] grace to help in time of need [an appropriate blessing, coming just at the right moment]. – Hebrews 4:16
