Based on Post New Apostolic Reformation Reflections
The Bible was given by God
Prophets of old (both Old Testament and New Testament) spoke and wrote as they were inspired by God (2 Peter 1:19-21). Their words were truly given for us – by God.
There is a reason we call that collection of writings – The Holy Bible, or Scripture:
“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”
– 2 Timothy 3:16-17.
New Revelations are mere man’s words
Does God give new revelations? No. According to the Bible God does not give new revelations today. He does not need to. Why?
“for His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness” – 2 Peter 1:1-12 NASB
Is the Bible enough? Absolutely. Totally. Read this again in the Amplified version: 2 Peter 1:1-12 AMP.
verses 3-4
3 For His divine power has bestowed on us [absolutely] everything necessary for [a dynamic spiritual] life and godliness,
through [d]true and personal knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. 4 For by these He has bestowed on us His precious and magnificent promises [of inexpressible value], so that by them you may escape from the immoral freedom that is in the world because of disreputable desire, and become sharers of the divine nature.
“His divine power
has bestowed on us
[absolutely] everything necessary
for [a dynamic spiritual]
life and godliness”
Does that sound like we need anything more, any new revelation?
Warnings not to add revelations
The same warning and promises made by the Apostle John in Revelation 22:18-19 — can be applied to all the Bible, all Scripture, the books of prophecies made by genuine prophets:
“…if anyone adds [anything] to them, God will add to him the plagues (afflictions, calamities) which are written in this book;
19 and if anyone takes away from or distorts the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away [from that one] his share from the tree of life…”
The NAR type churches have prophets and apostles that regularly make-up a “new revelation” that “takes away from or distorts the words of the book“. God is against this, against them.
Prophets were appointed personally by Christ.
These prophets lived during the days of Christ’s generation. They personally saw Christ.
The Apostle/Prophet Paul, for example, had a special experience where Jesus knocked him off his horse with a blinding light, personally appointing Paul to be His spokesman (Acts 26:9-18; Acts 9; Acts 22).
“I saw on the way a light from heaven surpassing the brightness of the sun, shining all around me and those who were traveling with me. 14 And when we all had fallen to the ground, I heard a voice in the Hebrew dialect (Jewish Aramaic) saying to me, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?….”
– Source: verses 13-14 of Acts 26:9-18.
These gifts passed away
The gift of prophet ceased with the generation that saw Christ personally. According to Paul, tongues ceased, prophecies passed away, and the gift of special knowledge passed away. Paul wrote:
8 Love never fails [it never fades nor ends]. But as for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for the gift of special knowledge, it will pass away.” – Source: 1 Corinthians 13:8
Contrary to the authentic prophets of old, all of today’s are false prophets. They give us their own words — which are not “breathed out by God“.
And when their prophecies are wrong, they say “Sorry” – and their NAR type church allows them to keep right on as their prophet or apostle. Back in the day….
Their own words are merely fake utterances: spoken as if they are speaking out from God Himself, with His words. NAR type church leaders and pew sitters regularly practice the unbiblical: reporting false revelations, false dreams, false visions, and many false “words of the Lord”, phoney word of knowledge, special knowledge.
They in fact have seen nothing
That is why they are called “false“. Be warned: These false talkers are in all NAR type charismatic churches. All tares.
“I am against you”
If you are getting into the miraculous, you are heading into an area fraught with harsh condemnations by God. Very, very scary.
It is no small thing
These charismatic practices come with special condemnation of the folk who practice such shenanigans. It is no small thing — to lie this way, claiming your words are God’s own words.
I believe this is a special condemnation warning by Jesus about lying like this:
“…‘I never knew you;
depart from Me
[you are banished from My presence],
you who act wickedly
[disregarding My commands]’
– Matthew 7:23
This is why I am so very concerned and write often of this:
“…God condemned them long ago and their destruction is on the way.”

| Why God is against me IF I claim my words are God’s own |
False prophets, false apostles and false teaches are constantly adding their own words to their church doctrines, as if God Himself spoke them. And they claim their own words are equal to Bible words.
Are you speaking your own words as if they are God’s words!? That was forbidden to do. NAR church folk do this. Constantly.
Similar practices,
Similar practices where they claim their words are God’s words:

** Special knowledge or Word of knowledge
** “God has told me…” (Hinn for example, said: ““Man, I feel revelation knowledge already coming on me here. Holy Spirit, take over in the name of Jesus. …” – Source: see Word of Faith article.
** “God has told me that you should do this…”
** “God has given me a word of encouragement for you…”

False narratives… untrue to the Bible
On what do you base your beliefs? Do you follow the opinions of mere men? Or do you judge all the tenets of your faith by what the Bible actually teaches?
Adding to the Bible
Many so-called Christian leaders add to the Bible in order to have things the way they want them, twisting Scripture to make-up their own doctrines, making God speak what they so, so wanted the Bible to include.
** Know what Jesus taught
** Study the Bible itself to know doctrines that are beliefs “deserving full acceptance and approval”
** Study the Bible, Holding to beliefs “deserving full acceptance and approval”
** Study the Bible so you can explain The Basic Christian Experience
** Know what God wants, and what the Bible teaches – so you can recognize the many false practices and counterfeit teachings. (See both: 2 Corinthians 11:4; Galatians 1:7.) – Source: Do not attend apostate churches
What has already been written
As put it: “We trust in what has already been written in Scripture.” We know that it is of God, and it is sufficient:
“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.” – 2 Timothy 3:16-17
Scripture warns us not to put-up with the false ones, those “empty talkers”. Do you?
Titus 1:10-11 10 For there are many rebellious men, empty talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision, 11 who must be silenced because they are upsetting whole families, teaching things they should not teach for the sake of sordid gain.

The Great Pretenders
What we need, is to be …getting down to God’s meaning. Churches should not follow the “[personal or special] interpretation” of a mere puny human. What in the world!?
Are you pretending your words are God’s Words? Are you pretending to have dreams and visions from God, when they are not?

The cultish characteristics of the NAR ensure that followers remain dependent on the personalities and private interpretations of their leaders. By establishing themselves as mediators between God and the ordinary follower, leaders are able to manipulate and fleece their followers.
Followers will find themselves in an endless quest to please their leaders, and in an endless quest to hear from God and experience some sort of spiritual encounter. In retrospect, we discover that it was never enough, and that is because it was a yoke from men that was placed on us.
Breaking free from the NAR is liberating because the emphasis is no longer on what we can or must do for God – but on what Christ has done for us. It’s a migration from self sufficiency, to sufficiency in Christ.
- Gone are the fleshly and straining efforts to hear the voice of God.
- Gone are the efforts to change circumstances by the power of our words.
- Gone are the days we spent running after anointings and manifestations.
- Gone are the days of looking for omens – numbers, cloud formations, feathers, oily palms and gold dust.
- Gone are the days we chased after men and women, hoping to receive a touch or “prophetic” word from them.
- Gone are days we timed ourselves speaking in tongues in the hope that it would make us more spiritual.
- Gone are the days of pleading the blood over anything we could name.
- Gone are the days of binding things that don’t exist or cannot be bound by man.
- Gone are the days of claiming our healing.
The subjective means we relied on [before] make way for the objective and infallible truth – the word of God.
- Our emotions, our experiences and our expectations, are no longer the driving force behind our Christianity.
- We trust in what Christ has already spoken (Hebrews 1:2) and
- realize that we have already been anointed (1 John 2:20).
- We learn that the Holy Spirit is given to all believers,
- and has given all believers certain gifts.
- We realize that we don’t need a new revelation
- [nor] the latest word some NAR teacher has just “released” for the body of Christ.
We trust in what has already been written in scripture, and know that it is sufficient:
“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.” – 2 Timothy 3:16-17.
