Hebrews 13:2
“Do not neglect to extend hospitality to strangers [especially among the family of believers—being friendly, cordial, and gracious, sharing the comforts of your home and doing your part generously], for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it”
My wife and I used to be quite young, back in the day (cr 1974). And we looked to the Lord for everything. Matter of fact, we still do.
Extend hospitality to strangers
One day a stranger came to our door. In those days at Simpson College in San Francisco (now is Simpson University in Redding, CA) we managed some apartments off campus in Brisbane, California, so assumed he was looking to rent. We invited him into our home and continued to talk.
Totally surrendered
This man told us,
“Man has not yet seen what God can do in the life of a person totally surrendered to Him.”
That’s the gist of it (as well as my 71 year old brain can recall his words). He spoke wisdom. He said that in our college studies of the Bible, we should be careful to not just get head knowledge – but “get it into your heart”.
Later we had the impression that man may have been an angel (as Hebrews 13:2 teaches us). Truly. We were deeply moved, encouraged in our faith. And we determined we would continue forward – strong and with confidence that God was with us in all that we pursued.
Not finished yet
I’m still working at it, surrendering. My wild and crazy stallion heart resists. But God has my heart. I’m learning, slowly but surely.
Road Sign: God is at work up ahead
6 For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work [a]among you will complete it [b]by the day of Christ Jesus.

Being 100% given-over to Jesus Excerpt:
… accepting Jesus- plus some other is totally rejected by Jesus. That “other gospel” faith is the road that leads to the other place, not to God’s Home Heaven. See: Matthew 6:24. (See both: 2 Corinthians 11:4 and Galatians 1:7.)
Saved through grace and sheer mercy.
We are not saved by how we vote, nor by what party we join.

- But, beware – our worldview reveals where our heart stands.
Is Jesus’ worldview – your worldview Excerpt:
With today’s evil agendas out there, it should be quite obvious to a true Christian that one cannot be a true born again Christian – and also be a far left Democrat. The Far Left want anything BUT to follow Jesus, and the Dems are being led by the Far Left. The Dems are not the Dems of yesteryear. Get real.
Jesus will reject many “Christians”

Being faithful, little by little Excerpt:
“Those who are faithful to Christ – are not faithful all-at-once, and faultless thereafter. Those who are faithful to the end – are faithful over time, little-by-little.
Faithfulness is a process. We live, we try, we fail, we sin – but the faithful then repent, turn to God again, and move on in faith, believing God that we will be stronger next time.
The faithful develop a pattern of an overcoming faith. The pattern we strive towards, each day, is: we live, we conquer, we act by the power of the Holy Spirit. Believers do not accept sin in their life as normal and acceptable before God.”
Maintain yourself faithful – out of loyalty to Christ Excerpt:
Suffering for our faith has been happening for years. Read more about suffering now: We are now in “Birth Pangs” times, and then – the End. Perhaps we will be among those who suffer, we who now eagerly await His Rapture and Second Coming.
Consider it nothing but joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you fall into various trials. 3 Be assured that the testing of your faith [through experience] produces endurance [leading to spiritual maturity, and inner peace]. 4 And let endurance have its perfect result and do a thorough work, so that you may be perfect and completely developed [in your faith], lacking in nothing.
– James 1: verses 2-4.
My wild and crazy stallion heart Excerpt:
I’m working at it. It’s a process: taken 66 years already!
I must be a slow learner.
[I’m a’ workin’ more on that!]
About past sins and being forgiven now
I have faith Excerpt:
Faith is “the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed).” (Hebrews 11:1)
Faith is “an inherent trust and enduring confidence in the power, wisdom and goodness of God“. (Hebrews 11:3)
Balancing-out my faith with my practice Excerpt:
You cannot balance-out your faith with practices that are heinous to God and expect God to change His ways for you. God does not use a balance scale. I cannot “balance-out my faith” by practicing sin.
Coming to God on your own terms is like…
-
- like walking up to a wild bear and telling him to be nice
- like standing on a red ant hill and asking them nicely to stay in their hole
- like speeding recklessly past a watchful CHP officer in California and really really hoping he doesn’t come after you
- like whacking a tattooed biker over the head and thinking you’ll get away with it
- like careening into court dipsey drunk to fight a DUI offense and thinking the judge will forgive you
- like going to a gun battle with a water pistol
The reality of God’s universe is — it’s not your universe. It behooves us to seek after God and get His word on things. Our thoughts are not His thoughts. My thoughts will not be consulted by God on That Day.
Living the good life – with courage and confident hope
Ghosts, Spirits and Demons Excerpt:
I choose to believe God: I am not alone in the dark. I am not alone at any time.
God resides in my body. God watches over me, because He is my “Abba Father” [Romans 8:15]. His will for my life definitely will be accomplished – because He is in me and has promised to “continue that good work” in me (Philippians 1:6). I will not fear.
