Where only the strong survive

I can stand strong
In these ever darkening End Times where only the strong survive – the frictions of evil around us grind at our soul, constantly. So Scripture says:

1 Timothy 6:11

But as for you, O man of God, flee from these things; aim at and pursue righteousness [true goodness, moral conformity to the character of God], godliness [the fear of God], faith, love, steadfastness, and gentleness.

James 4:7

So submit to [the authority of] God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him] and he will flee from you.

Romans 6:11-14

“¹¹ …consider yourselves to be dead to sin [and your relationship to it broken], but alive to God [in unbroken fellowship with Him] in Christ Jesus.

¹² Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its lusts and passions. ¹³ Do not go on offering members of your body to sin as instruments of wickedness.

But offer yourselves to God [in a decisive act] as those alive [raised] from the dead [to a new life], and your members [all of your abilities—sanctified, set apart] as instruments of righteousness [yielded] to God.

¹⁴ For sin will no longer be a master over you, since you are not under Law [as slaves], but under [unmerited] grace [as recipients of God’s favor and mercy].

Daily Prayer
A good daily prayer for the weak and the “strong”:

“²³ Search me [thoroughly], O God,
and know my heart;
Test me and know my anxious thoughts;

²⁴ And see if there is any wicked
or hurtful way in me,
And lead me in the everlasting way.”
– Psalm 139:23-24

We can stand strong in the midst of pressures, but our strength is in Christ. Scripture says to rely on the Holy Spirit who is within us. We are over-comers because “…He who is in you is greater than he (Satan) who is in the world [of sinful mankind].”
