This declaration by Jesus Himself, recorded in Luke 18:31-34, could not be any clearer. It is recorded as a direct quote from the man (Jesus) by an eyewitness (Luke). We know…
The Son of Man knew who He was. He explained it to His disciples. Jesus said that He, the Son of Man, would suffer, die, and be resurrected. (Luke 18:31-34) His disciples then wrote all about it and about His divinity.

This is what Dr. Luke recorded for the record: (the quote is Jesus speaking)
31 Now He took the twelve aside and said to them, “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and all the things that have been written through the prophets about the Son of Man will be accomplished.
32 For He will be [a]handed over to the Gentiles, and will be ridiculed, and abused, and spit upon, 33 and after they have flogged Him, they will kill Him; and on the third day He will rise.”
34 [b]The disciples understood none of these things, and the meaning of this statement was hidden from them, and they did not comprehend the things that were said.

They did not get it
They absolutely did not get it — when He explained it. He told them. And many today, apparently, still just don’t get it. Jesus prophesied He would die and rise up from the dead! And later, with the Bible record, our own conscience, and creation proofs, the heavens above, and archaeological findings, God furnished plenty of proof, evidences galore MerWeb meaning… that Jesus was God. We can believe in Him.

But many from the crowd
believed in Him.
And they kept saying,
“When the Christ comes,
will He do more signs
and exhibit more proofs
than this Man?”
– John 7:31
Jesus told them exactly what would happen to Him prior to the event! That is a prophecy of a future event. But, not until after Christ resurrected from the dead, days later, did they THEN understand what He had meant that day.
Then up from the grave He arose

THEN Jesus arose from His tomb. NOW they understood, and they believed in Him as the Messiah sent to die on a cross for our sins. They had been walking with the long awaited Messiah! He was their Teacher, here in the flesh – Jesus.
But they did not truly believe until He resurrected. THEN they believed. When will you?
Jesus resurrected from the dead. Believe it. How can you not?
His disciples believed so radically, so firmly, that they went down to their death proclaiming Jesus is Messiah. They died for that truth. Never recanted. They went to the extreme, even though dying horrible deaths (except for John “the one who Jesus loved”… who died in old age).
That is the type of “believe in Jesus” Jesus requires. That – Jesus accepts for salvation. It is honest, sincere and truthful. Anything less, well, can you really call it something you “believe”?
Careful with that unBeliefism you cling to. There is a promise attached to that if you stay in it:
John 3:18
Whoever believes and has decided to trust in Him [as personal Savior and Lord] is not judged [for this one, there is no judgment, no rejection, no condemnation];
but the one who does not believe [and has decided to reject Him as personal Savior and Lord] is judged already [that one has been convicted and sentenced],
because he has not believed and trusted in the name of the [One and] only begotten Son of God [the One who is truly unique, the only One of His kind, the One who alone can save him].
I choose to believe in Jesus, and leave my past as past, no regrets, my sins – forgiven, forever. The proofs are there, so easy to see. I chose to believe. I’ll be forever young!
____________
James 3:1
Not many [of you] should become teachers [serving in an official teaching capacity], my brothers and sisters, for you know that we [who are teachers] will be judged by a higher standard [because we have assumed greater accountability and more condemnation if we teach incorrectly].

Enlightened Folks – Hebrews 6:4-5 Excerpt: When the buzz is gone, the excitement is over, the others have gone home, and it’s only you: Are you truly His, or was it just a thrill, an emotional high, a status thing, a “thing” you’ve done – something religious that you like?
This is normal for some. Year after year, week after week… they claim to be “a Christian”. They identify themselves as “a person of faith“. Isn’t that the thing to say these days.? They just really really like the experience of it all. But, but, but they never genuinely bow their soul to God and let Him in.

The tragic error many live in all their life Excerpt:
The Way of God is for us to be “born again“. To accept us, God the Savior makes us brand new. He saves us – out of sin – into a new birth, a second birth. This time it is a spiritual birth where He makes you forever born of God. That is radical! He certainly is radically extreme to the nth degree.
That moment in time is when you enter His realm – spiritually. Your moment of death is when you enter the real real in His physical, magical Kingdom in Heaven. But you must be born again to enter there. Otherwise, well, there is a place, an entirely different existence… for those who reject His offer to get saved. 1

The opposite of forever being in God’s Home Heaven is forever being without God. God is good, so Hell will be a place without good of any type. If Hell is home — you know you’ve been God Damned.

Being saved means forever never again condemned…sins – forgiven, forever

Footnotes
- Anyone
Actually — anyone (Romans 3:23), everyone, will be ceremoniously “thrown out” into “the abyss” (the bottomless pit, the dwelling place of demons), into Hell — if they reject Christ Jesus — not just “the sons and heirs of the kingdom [the descendants of Abraham who will not recognize Me as Messiah]” (verse 12).“Rejectors” (all those “who will not recognize Me as Messiah”) will not be in God’s Home Heaven. How very huge the bummer.
