“We are waiting on the real real”
We are in a forge, and things are getting hotter. As we enter a new year, we are faced with daunting challenges, fears, and uncertainty. To get through this, we must be firm in our faith, be strong in Him – and wait patiently for Jesus to return as promised.
He is greater than all our fears. The God of the Ages has a plan that He assures us is being worked-out. In Him we have a hope.
As John records,
“And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” (Rev 21:4 [3-5 AMP])
If you could humor me for a moment, what we are waiting for (as stated in the common slang of our day) we are waiting on the real real.

we are waiting on
the real real
Wanting what’s really real
Are you eagerly waiting for the appearance of Jesus? He brings “the real real”. There is altogether too much unreal, phony, fake. In this world we are all so broken, often not real.
The reality is we all are always incomplete while on this planet. That reality causes a lot of problems.
Trying to get it their way, people actually try to balance-out their broken practices by doing a few feeble good deeds. As if 3 good deeds negate 1 bad practice with God!
Like God is pleased with our vile ways – just because we are nice in other ways?! No. It does not work that way in the Courts of Heaven.
The God who created the world …and everything in it
God is Holy, Holy, Holy. He is asking us to repent (Acts 17:24-31).
There are no special deals being offered by any Great District Attorney. There is a one-off offer Jesus makes to everyone alike. 1

“God wants us all to be saved. God wants every one of us to repent and turn to Him – before death, before the Rapture. Is He waiting for you?
Those of us who have already been born again, born of God, changed forever, saved from His wrath: We are waiting “excitedly” for Him to return and take us to eternity! Oh what a day that will be!
But we have to wait for it. True followers of Christ have been freed from a righteous “God Damn”, but we have to wait.”

Wanting what makes me happy
All that we call human history–money, poverty, ambition, war, prostitution, classes, empires, slavery–[is] the long terrible story of man trying to find something other than God which will make him happy. – C.S. Lewis 2
We know Jesus will return
Other than God – nothing will bring lasting happiness. We must turn to Jesus to find true, lasting happiness and eternal life with Him. His strength can be ours now, and the permanent fulfillment of our dreams is coming soon. Wait for it.
“we are waiting “excitedly”
for Him to return
and take us to eternity!
Oh what a day that will be!“

Excerpt: You cannot declare what is truth. You cannot declare what is real, what you want reality to be. It is God who declares what is truth, what is real, what real reality is.

The love of God
John 3:16-21 AMP
16 “For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His [One and] [a]only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Savior] shall not perish, but have eternal life.
17 For God did not send the Son into the world to judge and condemn the world [that is, to initiate the final judgment of the world], but that the world might be saved through Him.
18 Whoever believes and has decided to trust in Him [as personal Savior and Lord] is not judged [for this one, there is no judgment, no rejection, no condemnation];
but the one who does not believe [and has decided to reject Him as personal Savior and Lord] is judged already [that one has been convicted and sentenced], because [b]he has not believed and trusted in the name of the [One and] only begotten Son of God [the One who is truly unique, the only One of His kind, the One who alone can save him].
19 This is the judgment [that is, the cause for indictment, the test by which people are judged, the basis for the sentence]: the Light has come into the world, and people loved the [c]darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil.
20 For every wrongdoer hates the Light, and does not come to the Light [but shrinks from it] for fear that his [sinful, worthless] activities will be exposed and condemned.
21 But whoever practices truth [and does what is right—morally, ethically, spiritually] comes to the Light, so that his works may be plainly shown to be what they are—accomplished in God [divinely prompted, done with God’s help, in dependence on Him].”
Footnotes
- Acts 17:24-31
24 The God who created the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands; 25 nor is He [a]served by human hands, as though He needed anything, because it is He who gives to all [people] life and breath and all things.
26 And He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their lands and territories. 27 This was so that they would seek God, if perhaps they might grasp for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us.
28 For in Him we live and move and exist [that is, in Him we actually have our being], as even some of [b]your own poets have said, ‘For we also are His children.’ 29 So then, being God’s children, we should not think that the Divine Nature (deity) is like gold or silver or stone, an image formed by the art and imagination or skill of man.
30 Therefore God overlooked and disregarded the former ages of ignorance; but now
He commands all people everywhere to repent [that is, to change their old way of thinking, to regret their past sins, and to seek God’s purpose for their lives],
31 because He has set a day when He will judge the inhabited world in righteousness by a Man whom He has appointed and destined for that task,
and He has provided credible proof to everyone by raising Him from the dead.”
