…Telling it like it is – with a bit of satire
INTRODUCTION
This, in Hebrews 9:27-28, is a dire warning for those without Christ:
“…it is appointed and destined
for all men
to die once
and after this [comes
certain] judgment….”
– Hebrews 9:27-28
Judgement is coming. If you reject Jesus: You will go to Hell. No question about that. That’s not my first choice, but if that’s the way you want to go, and that is your final answer, well, what can I say? …Go to Hell.
But, you know, I can’t very well say to you: “Good luck” or “Blessings on you” – or “Happy trails to ya” as you go your way. 1
Option: Jump to beginning of the List of Sins.
How to go to Hell (a bit of satire…)
It’s an easy-peasy choice, choosing Hell. Following is a giant list of what you can do — to go to Hell. Not difficult – as there are many practices you can choose from. Or, just stay as-is, the easiest choice (just make “no choice” at all) because God has divided eternity for all of us.
As is, as we are, in sin, there is an uncrossable chasm between here and Heaven. Jesus is the only Way across that chasm.
You don’t have to get across any divide to go to Hell. It’s your choice. Scripture is clear about the consequences of unforgiven sin.
In a sense Hell is not about sin. Hell is for the unrepentant. If you repent, you can be saved, and Heaven becomes Home. If you do not repent, then, well, you remain condemned. That is the most vast diffence in the entire universe, thus – the eternal divide.
But then, you know, many reject advice given to them throughout their life. It’s like…
– Don’t smoke. It leads to lung cancer. But they go and smoke anyway.
Then they die.
– Don’t drink and drive. Driving buzzed – kills road meat. But they go DUI anyway.
Then they die.
– Don’t lay-out in the sun half-naked. But they do, get burned, and get cancer anyway.
Then they die.
– Don’t overeat. But it’s a constant habit. They get fat. Get diabetes. Get high blood pressure.
Then they die.
We are the odd creature are we not? We hate rules. We hate being told what to do and how to think. We like to think we are free and capable of whatever we want. But the truth is: we are slaves… slaves to sin. Unless we have taken Jesus as our Master.
Excerpt from: What’s your problem?
How are you “doing” your life? It’s only one life. Got anything of effect going for the next one… just beyond the veil?
What is keeping you from yielding to God? What is it about “your way” that is so appealing?
This is what the Apostle Paul said in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10.
My unauthorized paraphrase:
Don’t you know this!?
…that those who live their own way
will not actually get into God’s Kingdom?
They won’t have even the slightest share in it!
What kind of idiot are you? (I just added this line because it’s a shocking question)

Here is the quite elongated list of sins which appear in the Bible. God is against these, no question about it. Jesus strongly recommends not to stay in your sin unrepentant, unforgiven. You’re on the train to Hell if you stay as-is. Scary thought.
God is against sin. Sins are many: “things which are not proper“, what comes “out of the heart”, what we are to be “putting aside”. Those “who practice such things” will absolutely not inherit the Holy Kingdom of God.
The sins we can practice to go to Hell
– a quite elongated list

Here is the short list. This is the Exodus 20 list, the famous 10 Commandments.

Return to beginning of The List of Sins.
Drawing-up the list elongated like this – makes me realize how large they loom in our lives. Quite a variety! That is what is inside our Old Nature. Not what I aspire to, that’s for sure.
_____________
In conclusion, this is what Scripture says about habitually practicing sin.
The Habitual Practice of Sin See these in one link here
1 John 3:9
No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot [practice] sin, because he is born of God.
1 John 3:4
Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness.
1 John 3:8
the one who practices sin is of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning. The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil.
2 Corinthians 12:21
I am afraid that when I come again my God may humiliate me before you, and I may mourn over many of those who have sinned in the past and not repented of the impurity, immorality and sensuality which they have practiced.
Colossians 3:9
Do not lie to one another, since you laid aside the old self with its evil practices
Galatians 5:16-21
16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh.
17 For the desire of the flesh is against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, in order to keep you from doing whatever you want.
18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law.
19 Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: sexual immorality, impurity, indecent behavior, 20 idolatry, witchcraft, hostilities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions, 21 envy, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
Dwelling in thought about sin is not healthy, but making ourself aware of what is out there, and what the Lord has done to keep us from it… now THAT is healthy. When I observe what the world is into, I am thankful for His grace and strength to not be falling for these things.
1 Corinthians 10:13
No temptation [regardless of its source] has overtaken or enticed you that is not common to human experience [nor is any temptation unusual or beyond human resistance]; but God is faithful [to His word—He is compassionate and trustworthy], and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability [to resist], but along with the temptation He [has in the past and is now and] will [always] provide the way out as well, so that you will be able to endure it [without yielding, and will overcome temptation with joy].
So, how’s it going with the development of your sins? You still quite satisfied with the way you are going?
Bible Advice…for all sinners
If you are into practicing what God has condemned: Look to Jesus. He is at work in you — towards repentance.
Sin certainly is an option for us. But repenting gets us on God’s track. Then, standing strong in Christ keeps us living for Jesus. I am strong against all sin, because “greater is He that is in me, than he that is in the world” (1 John 4:4). You can be also.
4 Little children (believers, dear ones), you are of God and you belong to Him and have [already] overcome them [the agents of the antichrist]; because He who is in you is greater than he (Satan) who is in the world [of sinful mankind].

There is a lot of wishful thinking going on with people who want what they want, and they want it their way. The sentiment is usually a chord that runs throughout their life. And they take that thought with them into the afterlife.
The problem with you yourself declaring what you want in the afterlife – is that you had nothing whatsoever to do with the creation of the afterlife. God did. You did not. And He told us all about it.

Why do orthodox Christians pray for the dead? | St John the Evangelist Orthodox Church article | https://www.saintjohnchurch.org/prayer-for-the-dead/. |
Introduction: “Praying for the dead is self-evident to us as Orthodox Christians. Even Monophysites, Nestorians, Roman Catholics, and Uniates continue this practice from their Orthodox Christian past.
But many of our Protestant neighbors question or reject it, thinking it is not biblical. As Orthodox Christians, we should understand why we pray for the dead, so we can explain this to others who ask about it (1 Peter 3:15).
This post explains the Orthodox practice of prayer for the dead. We also explain the tradition of blessing and eating “memorial wheat” in the Orthodox Church.”
