God is our refuge and strength,
a very present help in trouble.
– Psalm 46:1 KJV
In the midst of it all, I remind myself that I am born again. I am following Him. The Spirit of God has made me a “brand new creation” of God (2 Corinthians 5:17). Since that moment in time – a whole lot of changes have been goin’ on in me! Each day I will acknowledge His presence in my life. I will daily live in the knowledge of what God has changed me into.
What He has done! Amazing. What I am promised! Astounding.
The Lord has promised good to me. Therefore I will not worry or fret. I will not murmur nor complain.
Daily I will “take hold of the hope set before us.” And as I keep that hope set before me, I am renewed each day in my inner soul. The hope set before me is Jesus. What love, that He should die for me!
“…we who have taken refuge …have strong encouragement to take hold of the hope set before us. 19 This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast….” – Hebrews 6:18-19
The Lord has promised that He has a plan for me and will finish His plan. Therefore I will not be afraid of the future. He will carry me through.
Jeremiah 29:11 Amplified Bible (AMP)
For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’ says the Lord, ‘plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
I am convinced and confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will [continue to] perfect and complete it until the day of Christ Jesus [the time of His return].
The Lord has promised to answer my prayers. I will therefore “pray-out” my concerns to Him. In “conversational prayer” I will share with Him all about my needs, because I know He cares and will answer. I will leave my concerns with Him.
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
The Lord has promised He will never leave me nor forsake me. Never ever. That makes me confident. Because He Himself declared me forgiven, I am so very confident to live-out my life without fear. I know that I will fail Him at times, but I am secure in His salvation.
Hebrews 13:5 [Full Chapter] Amplified Bible (AMP)
Let your character [your moral essence, your inner nature] be free from the love of money [shun greed—be financially ethical], being content with what you have; for He has said, “I will never [under any circumstances] desert you [nor give you up nor leave you without support, nor will I in any degree leave you helpless], nor will I forsake or let you down or relax My hold on you [assuredly not]!”
Romans 8:28-39
…35 Who will separate us from the love of [c]Christ? Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 Just as it is written,
“For Your sake we are being put to death all day long;
We were considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”
37 But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
The Lord has promised my sins cannot condemn me to hell.
Sin can no longer condemn me to hell, because God has declared me free of His condemnation. God declared this! I am not saved because I keep myself free of sins. No. Rather, I am saved because He, The Judge, within His heavenly justice system — has declared me “FORGIVEN”! If The Judge declares you free, who can condemn you further? Not goin’ to happen!
Romans 8: verse 1
Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
The Lord has promised He has saved me once – for all time.
who does not need daily, like those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for His own sins and then for the sins of the people, because this He did once for all when He offered up Himself.
Hebrews 7: verses 22-28
23 …Jesus has become the guarantee of a better covenant.
23 The former priests, on the one hand, existed in greater numbers because they were prevented by death from continuing, 24 but Jesus, on the other hand, because He continues forever, holds His priesthood permanently. 25 Therefore He is able also to save [i -completely] forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.
26 For it was fitting for us to have such a high priest, holy, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners and exalted above the heavens; 27 who does not need daily, like those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for His own sins and then for the sins of the people, because this He did once for all when He offered up Himself. 28 For the Law appoints men as high priests who are weak, but the word of the oath, which came after the Law, appoints a Son, made perfect forever.
The death of God on the cross, and then the resurrection of God from the tomb — was done to satisfy the justice system of God which has condemned all mankind as unacceptable. Naked and alone, we are not holy enough for His Kingdom. Through that death, of a perfect God, a perfect sacrifice — God provided a way of escape from His punishment. Have you accepted this yourself, personally? Are you actually following Christ, or just playing a game?
I find Refuge in Him – Hebrews 6:18-19
Psalm 18:2 Amplified Bible (AMP)
The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and the One who rescues me;
My God, my rock and strength in whom I trust and take refuge;
My shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower—my stronghold.
I find Strong Encouragement in Him
I find Indwelling Strength in Him – Hebrews 6:18-19
so that by two unchangeable things [His promise and His oath] in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled [to Him] for refuge would have strong encouragement and indwelling strength to hold tightly to the hope set before us.
He is the anchor of my soul
“an anchor of the soul”, “sure and steadfast…” – Hebrews 6:18-19
The Word of God is in me – 1 John 2:14 Amplified Bible (AMP)
I have already been victorious over Satan
1 John 2:14 Amplified Bible (AMP) …you are strong and vigorous… and you have been victorious over the evil one [by accepting Jesus as Savior].
Any time a person is freed from enslavement to sin, given new life in Christ… is born again: Satan has been vanguished, beaten, foiled. The goal of the Evil One is to keep as many humans as possible for Himself in Hell. Hopefully you are not one of them! When one of us turns from godlessness, repents, and acknowledges Christ as the Son of God, and asks God to save… that person is “victorious over the evil one.” From then on — nothing can separate that person from God. What will you do with Jesus?
I will resist Satan continually
James 4:7
Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
God is my refuge and my strength
In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.
Warnings – 2 Chronicles 26:16
But when Uzziah became strong, he became so proud [of himself and his accomplishments] that he acted corruptly, and he was unfaithful and sinned against the Lord his God.
Spiritual Favor – Luke 2:40
In all we do, we want to have the favor of God on us. That is how Jesus grew up:
And the Child continued to grow and become strong [in spirit], filled with wisdom; and the grace (favor, spiritual blessing) of God was upon Him.
In the same way, the Spirit of God can be upon us, if we walk in the Spirit. Daily I practice spiritual breathing: I breathe out with confession of sin, and I breathe in the freshness of His forgiveness and the power of His Holy Spirit.
I stay current in my relationship with God, daily doing a refresh: I will not allow my inner soul to stagnate. I can, but I chose not to. I can stagnate in many ways: wallowing in sin, self-pity, self-condemnation, negative self-talk. But I reject that way of living.
When I am finished
I want to say, when heaven’s gates are close-by:

Who I really really am Excerpt: Life. It’s not an easy road. But as I live my daily grind, I don’t have to let it grind me down.
Life’s a wild, buckin’ bronco ride. God chose the saddle I’m on, and there’s no gettin’ away from it. You gotta ride what’s under your saddle!
Sometimes I feel I’m walking down a rocky mountain trail, alone… and a pit-bull’s workin’ its way up my leg.
But, each day I am renewed and instilled with new energy and hope when I turn it all over to Him.
My hope is not in being saved from it all. My hope is knowing He is my all. He is my confidence and my hope. Read Hebrews 13:5-6.
Who I am is not
“what I’m going through”.
Who I am is a constant:
I am a child of the King,
an heir to The Throne,
and nothing I’m going through
can make me less.
Nothing can take me away
from His love for me.

The Richness of your soul Excerpt:
The richness of your soul is something you control. Each day you input there, into your soul. You may wish for more cash in your bank account, however, your boss, or “the economy”, controls your wages, right?
With your soul, you yourself can enrich your soul as you walk your day close to God — through all your experiences. To get richness in our soul, we have to want it, and continually yield our will to God.
As we follow what God wants for us, He enriches our soul.
Faithful and True Excerpt:
Oh to be faithful and true to the end. It’s not too late, yet, for you — for all of us who still are alive on planet earth. Ready to meet Jesus face to face? If you are not now “faithful and true” to Christ, turn to Him today. God is asking you to repent. Come to Jesus. 2 Timothy 3: verses 14-17
