Paul explains the chronological timeline of
5 big time end time events:
2 Thessalonians 2:1-12
1. The Great Apostasy (v3: “that day will not come unless the apostasy comes first [that is, the great rebellion, the abandonment of the faith by professed Christians]”
2. The Revealing of the the man of lawlessness (v3, 7-8)
3. The Rapture (v3: “that day will not come unless the apostasy comes first… and the man of lawlessness is revealed….”)
4. The Great Tribulation (v9-12: “…through the activity of Satan, [attended] with great power [all kinds of counterfeit miracles] and [deceptive] signs and false wonders [all of them lies], 10 and by unlimited seduction to evil and with all the deception of wickedness….”)

- The coming reign of lawlessness
- The intervention of God Almighty with wrath at the end of The Great Tribulation:
- “Look, the LORD is ready to devastate the earth and leave it in ruins; he will mar its surface and scatter its inhabitants. Everyone will suffer–the priest as well as the people, the master as well as the servant, the elegant lady as well as the female attendant, the seller as well as the buyer, the borrower as well as the lender, the creditor as well as the debtor. The earth will be completely devastated and thoroughly ransacked. For the LORD has decreed this judgment” (Isaiah 24:1-3 NET).

5. The Second Coming of Christ in glory and power (v8): “and the Lord Jesus will slay him with the breath of His mouth and bring him to an end by the appearance of His coming.”
9 And after He said these things, He was caught up as they looked on, and a cloud took Him up out of their sight. 10 While they were looking intently into the sky as He was going, two men in white clothing suddenly stood beside them, 11 who said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This [same] Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will return in just the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven.” – Acts 1:9-11
AND THEN COMES: Christ’s Spectacular Millennium
“Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will return in just the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven.”
