…a study of Galatians 1:6-9
What “gospel” are you into? The Bible says there is no other gospel that saves us for all eternity – except the original Gospel of the early church apostles. None. “Ninguna”.
Are you in an apostate church? Do you really want to go there? They have changed the Gospel into their own distorted gospel. Theirs is very different from the Bible’s. And only the Bible Gospel saves. Do you really want a not-saving faith?
Apostate means following a gospel that is different (v6) from what the apostles taught (Paul, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John) – what is so very clearly taught in the New Testament. They take you to a different Jesus. They “distort the gospel of Christ” (v7).
The apostate gospel does not save you from hell. What on earth are you doing there?!
There is no other gospel
Galatians 1:6-9 English Standard Version
6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him
who called you in the grace of Christ
and are turning to a different gospel—
7 not that there is another one,
but there are some who trouble you
and want to distort the gospel of Christ.
8 But even if we or an angel from heaven
should preach to you a gospel
contrary to the one we preached to you,
let him be accursed.
9 As we have said before, so now I say again:
If anyone is preaching to you a gospel
contrary to the one you received,
let him be accursed.
Galatians 1:6-9 is a biblical warning from way back. Way back in the early Church Paul was warning about apostate teachings.
there are some who trouble you
and want to distort the gospel of Christ. – v7
The great falling away from the faith, predicted by Paul, is happening right now in the form of Bethel and other NAR-related church doctrines. They “distort the gospel of Christ” (v7). Are you into them?
Be warned. This is the most serious issue in your life at this moment: Have you been “turning to a different gospel“(v6)? Guaranteed most serious.
The apostates of today do not just believe in the prophetic and charismatic gifts, they believe that:
- God speaks to them personally – to add to the Bible.
- Jesus was just a man, not God, when He died on the cross.
Are you good with that? Bethel is. Bill Johnson is. So are the other NAR affiliated churches. That is “a gospel contrary to the one you received“. What Paul said about other gospels: that is not of God (Galatians 1:6-9).
There is nothing more important on earth than getting to Heaven. Nothing. Do you know for sure that you are following the real Jesus of the Bible – not some mere man fabricated by apostates?

Apostasy
4 But the [Holy] Spirit explicitly and unmistakably declares that in later times some will turn away from the faith, paying attention instead to deceitful and seductive spirits and doctrines of demons, 2 [misled] by the hypocrisy of liars whose consciences are seared as with a branding iron [leaving them incapable of ethical functioning], 3 who forbid marriage and advocate abstaining from [certain kinds of] foods which God has created to be gratefully shared by those who believe and have [a clear] knowledge of the truth. 4 For everything God has created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with gratitude; 5 for it is sanctified [set apart, dedicated to God] by means of the word of God and prayer.
A Good Minister’s Discipline
6 If you point out these instructions to the [a]brothers and sisters, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, constantly nourished [through study] on the words of the faith and of the good [Christian] doctrine which you have closely followed. 7 But have nothing to do with irreverent folklore and silly myths. On the other hand, discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness [keeping yourself spiritually fit]. 8 For physical training is of some value, but godliness (spiritual training) is of value in everything and in every way, since it holds promise for the present life and for the life to come. 9 This is a faithful and trustworthy saying worthy of full acceptance and approval. 10 It is for this that we labor and strive [often called to account], because we have fixed our [confident] hope on the living God, who is the [b]Savior of all people, especially of those who believe [in Him, recognize Him as the Son of God, and accept Him as Savior and Lord].
