“Embrace the fact
that God chose you
to live in this time and place”
Pete Garcia (of rev310.net) wrote a very insightful piece, Embrace the Suck, about living inside the will of God for us in these days. These End Days are difficult, and they will not get better soon. Have you found yourself “complaining about the way things are”?
What can we do? Pete says:
“…instead of complaining about the way things are, you
embrace the fact that God chose you to live in this time and place.
Embrace the gifts and callings He has purposed you with and use them for His glory.
Embrace the role he has called you to be in your circle(s) of influence.
Embrace the fact that He has chosen you to live at the end of human history for His own divine purposes (Eph 1:3-6).
Garcia continues:
“I mean, out of all the generations you could have been born in, He chose you and me to live in the final one. Think about how awesome and special that is in light of all that is happening now.
We are in the end game. Most of the churches and all of the world are dead asleep to what is coming. If there ever was a time to be a watchman, it is now.”
Benefits to embracing this mindset
“There are some notable benefits to embracing this mindset:
-
It helps you accept your circumstances for what they are, especially if they are less than ideal.
-
It keeps you grounded and not chasing after what the world says you have to do.
-
It helps you lead a more disciplined life because you know it will not last long.
-
It helps you to become more resilient and adaptable in knowing that others have either gone before us in these same trials and tribulations, and we can learn from them how to push through it.
-
It helps develop an attitude of continuing forward and never giving up.”

“God chose you
to live in this time
and place.”
You and I, as true believers, have gifts and callings. You and I have a role to play “in your circle(s) of influence” (your “oikos“). You and I have been chosen by God to live “at the end of human history”! We must embrace what God has called us to (or keep on complaining…).

Your “oikos” Excerpt: “What is Oikos? Oikos is a Greek word that at its simplest level means “household.” But scripture defines Oikos as more than just the people who sleep under your roof at night. Our Oikos is our relational world, the group of people that God has strategically placed in our lives, that we may proclaim Jesus to those who don’t know Him and make disciples of those who do….

Why look into biblical prophecies?
Will you be “accounted worthy” to escape all these things that shall come to pass?

Praying for the world to get better?
“Events are escalating at an increasingly rapid pace in both intensity and frequency as Jesus said it would in His analogy of birth pains (Matthew 24:8). Jesus scolded the Pharisees for not recognizing the signs of the times (Matthew 16:1-3) and no doubt He commanded all of His followers to be watching at all times (Matthew 24:42).”

Be the one who endures and overcomes
“When God’s people are being alert to the signs of the times, it will cause them to grow in holiness and purity as they await their Lord’s return (1 John 3:2-3; 2 Peter 3:11).” – Mondo Gonzales of ProphecyWatchers.com.
He will rescue us soon: 2 Corinthians 1:10; Galatians 1:4
– 1 Thessalonians 1:8-10
“8 For the word of the Lord has sounded forth from you
…how you turned to God from [b]idols to serve [c]a living and true God,
10 and to wait for His Son from [d]heaven, whom He raised from the dead, that is, Jesus who rescues us from the wrath to come.
– Revelation 3:10
10 Because you have kept the word of My endurance [My command to persevere],
I will keep you [safe] from the hour of trial,
that hour which is about to come on the whole [inhabited] world, to test those who live on the earth.

Right on time …”the appointed time will come.” – Mark 13:33
Therefore comfort one another
“10…whether we are awake (alive) or asleep (dead) [at Christ’s appearing], we will live together with Him [sharing eternal life]. 11 Therefore encourage and comfort one another and build up one another, just as you are doing.”
