Are you posing as Christian? Posing as if following Jesus, but the reality of God is: God does not know you?
Wearing clothes to look the part. Showing up to be with….
My oldest grandson inspired this article about posing. At our Thanksgiving family meal he had a “Thrasher” sweatshirt on (for skaters and skateboarders). But he does not skate! He is a fan of… but is not a “Thrasher”, not a real “skater”.
Wannabe but ain’t
Many a so-called “Christian” is actually only a mere poser. A Hebrews 6:4-8 wannabe. But not.
The ones who “pose” MirWeb…
are those who were merely enlightened, only tasted Christian fellowship and love, were nothing more than found amongst the true flock, and studiously took part in God’s good word, and they got a taste of what Heaven will be like. Then they fell away, not ever having actually loved God with all of what they are (Matthew 22:37-39).
– Extracted from Hebrews 6:4-8
This is how Hebrews 6:4-8 puts it (quoting Scripture):
were once enlightened
tasted of the heavenly gift, and
were made partakers of the Holy Spirit
were made partakers of the good word of God
tasted the powers of the age to come,
and then fell away,
“it is impossible to renew them again to repentance”
they crucify the Son of God for themselves again, and
they put Him to open shame.
_________
Posers are like: the land…
has drunk the rain that comes often on it and
produces a crop suitable for them for whose sake it is also tilled,
receives blessing from God;
but bears thorns and thistles,
it is rejected and
it is near being cursed,
whose end is to be burned
_________
Posers are wannabees
They were never truly saved. Were mere tares amongst the wheat. Were never changed. Were “not really of us”. Their confession was not accepted. Are those “whose end is to be burned.” (Hebrews 6:8) Scary thought.
“For concerning those who were once enlightened and tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Spirit, and tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, and then fell away, it is impossible to renew them again to repentance; seeing they crucify the Son of God for themselves again, and put him to open shame.
For the land which has drunk the rain that comes often on it and produces a crop suitable for them for whose sake it is also tilled, receives blessing from God; but if it bears thorns and thistles, it is rejected and near being cursed, whose end is to be burned.”

There are posers, fakers, false Christians – in all churches, I surmise — since it appears that maybe only 6% of churchgoers have a biblical worldview. Are you posing as a Christian?

The Chutzpah of Wannabe Christians
How a tare thinks Excerpt:
Jesus gave us the parable of the Wheat and the Tare – both allowed to grow side-by-side in churches. At “the end” the undesirable tares (“weeds [resembling wheat]“) will be gathered and burned up. The desired wheat will be harvested for good, to be stored in the farmers barn (in God’s Kingdom). See: Matthew 3:12, and Matthew 13:24-30.

Your useless way of life Excerpt:
Your life is a journey you must travel with a deep consciousness of God. It cost God plenty to get you out of that dead-end, empty-headed life you grew up in. He paid with Christ’s sacred blood, you know. He died like an unblemished, sacrificial lamb. And this was no afterthought.
