I’ve seen it. A child can act-out in ways that disturb Mom and Dad. You’ve seen it at a store, in public. We have all been that child!
To disturb meaning is to trouble someone, to destroy tranquility, to upset someone because of what you are doing. It’s easy to do.
I disturbed my wife the other day. She is quite a bit more fastidiouos than I, and expressed “disturbance” because I never make-up my bed in the morning, I don’t tidy it up. “Why don’t you ever make-up your side of the bed? I always have to do it” she said. (So I am trying to create a new habit….)
In a TV program, I’ve seen a guy disturb his friend by loudly tapping his fingers on the table. Disturbing.
I’ve been asked to stop shaking my leg up and down at the table – that it’s vibrating the whole table! Disturbing.
But some things are seriously disturbing. Like when your son starts sneaking in at night, staggering. Or your daughter stays over an hour out front in the car with her boyfriend. Or like I experienced “disturbing” years ago, when I watched two men who’s necks turned on a pivot watching my handsome teenager walk across the restaurant to sit with us. Disturbing.
Are you perhaps disturbing to God? Really. Is He disturbed with you? Have you fallen into sin lately? That’s not a place I want to stay in.
Excerpt from Being pleasing
Resist the roaring lion
I resist the roaring lion who wants to eat me up (1 Peter 5:6-9): I make positive life choices, and I avoid living in ways that displease God. Makes sense, right? However, it’s not an easy road (YouTube video/lyrics). 1
Are you into practicing something God is not happy with? You can read the Bible and realize He very well could be somehow disturbed by your way of life. You know.
“…he [who is born again]
cannot habitually
[live a life characterized by] sin,
because he is born of God
and longs to please Him.”
–1 John 3:9

Being pleasing Excerpt: Little by little I have been matching-up the desires of my heart — to be the desires of what God desires. My worldview is more and more matching-up to God’s view.

Think like God Almighty Excerpt: Pushed to conform
With so much evil growing, it is getting more and more difficult to think like God thinks. In these End Days, or, as Jesus put it 2 in Matthew 24:14 “…and then the end“. We are being pushed to conform our thinking to the way of the world.
