Hermeneutics – The What and the Why: Module 1
Module 1. Hermeneutics – The What and the Why
I’m Cool With That
I’m cool with that…but, is God? You want to be cool with that, or cool with God?
Only God Himself
Only God Himself is real. All other gods are a sham – not able to save you from your sins.
The Importance of Evidence
Evidence of the truth of the gospel of Jesus is presented to us in many ways. If you fail to grasp a hold of the truth, it is only because of your failure to look and believe. The evidences are all over the place! If it happens right there in front of you – do you believe it? However, something that happened before we were born – has to be shown to us by evidences. What does it take for you to believe something is true?
Don´t Let It
We do not HAVE TO let sin reign over us. If you are born again, the next basic choice is to choose to sin or choose to obey Jesus.
If I Were To Let Sin Reign In My Body
If I were to let sin reign in my body, then — what a mess. But I don’t let it. I am not “these things”. I am strong in Him. Only in Him.
What We Are To Be
All in one passage, Romans 12, Paul presents a thorough explanation of what God is expecting of those who want to be a true Christian. The message of James is the same: we’ve got to back-up our talk with our walk.
What Jesus Thinks
I want to know what Jesus thinks. I want to follow Jesus. Just Jesus. I want to know what He Himself says. Preachers: stop giving me your thinking. Give me Jesus.
Who In Hell Do You Think You Are?
What will you say… when you find yourself in Hell? That is a place, you know.
The Responsibility of Bible Teachers
It is a huge responsibility – teaching the Bible. It behooves us to know what the Bible itself says about “teaching” the truths which God has given to us in order to follow Him well. ¨Our¨ doctrines and ¨our¨ beliefs and ¨our¨ teachings… are not ours, but God´s. Are you truly paying attention to what […]
Titus on: What the Word of God Teaches
Jesus came down to earth. That was when it could then be said: “the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men.”
Peaceful Easy Feeling
What an incredibly peaceful, easy feeling I have in my inner soul. The Bible tells me I am right with God. I have been born again. I am a new creature now, changed by God, made brand new — and I have nothing to fear, for God is my Savior. There is nothing more I need, for God Himself has made me His child.
Enduring To The End
Those who are called of God will “endure to the end” and inherit eternal life, but those who are not His “elect” will not endure. The verses that speak of “enduring” are not speaking of any doubt that you will, but rather pointing-out that all of us who are truly His own – will endure. […]
Why You Are An Idiot
Scripture says you are an idiot – if you say there is no God. Now why would you, such a smart person, be a verifiable idiot? Okay. Let’s get a little more serious. Here is some research to see evidences of God in the universe. Hope these are helpful.
Colossians 3:12-17
12 So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; 13 bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you. 14 Beyond all these things put […]
Colossians 3:5-10
consider the members of your earthly body as dead to…
Put It On
God created you able to do so much, now that you are born again and created brand new inside (2 Corinthians 5:11-17). Put it on, let it become natural to you… all that His Holy Spirit enables in your new life in Christ… Colossians 3:5-25.
Gods Matter
How absurd and utterly worthless – a life without the real God.
Satan The Deceiver
All the religions of the world are the works of Satan. He is alive and well on planet earth. He has been allowed by God to roam the earth. Only Jesus can save. But the great Deceiver, Satan, has pushed religion on mankind. Think about it. Do you want to end up on the other side of life, and find out, there, that you were living a worthless life?
Jesus Brings Us To Creator God
The Bible is very clear on this, telling us that not all roads lead to heaven. On the contrary, only Jesus saves.
The Christ, Jesus
God came down to earth, was born of a woman, became a man, “God in the flesh”: the Godman. His name was Jesus. He was the Messiah predicted in the Old Testament. Do you know Him?
Discernment When Interpreting
T. A. McMahon wrote: The critical issue for discernment is not “how it works” but “what is being communicated.” We have to be vigilant to always see the full counsel of God’s Word (Acts 17:11) so that we don’t get on some false rabbit trail.
Jesus Only Always For All Times
The theme running through the whole Bible is that Jesus, the perfect Lamb of God, loved us so much that He offered His life as a perfect sacrifice – for us. Jesus Christ is the only reason any of us, throughout all of history (past, present, or future), are able to be saved.
Losing My Soul
Are you ready to loose your soul – forever? Look to Jesus. Jesus saves repentant sinners.
Nothing
What is worth losing your soul over? I can think of one answer.
Dream a Little Dream of Me
The lovely, lilting song, one of my all-time favorites, (listen on YouTube:) “Dream A Little Dream Of Me“, illustrates how so many live their life. always dreaming always longing nite is fading but they’re still longing A life lived dreaming and longing, is a life unfulfilled, wasted and worthless in the end. And in the […]
Reconsider Your Life
Life is not all that long, and sometimes it is cut short. Have you really taken stock of your life, and thought about your end game? Are you ready to meet God face-to-face?
Examine Yourselves
The Bible exhorts us to periodically examine our self and make sure we are in the faith. Don’t get caught standing before God Himself and discover there that you are NOT His follower!
The Good Fight
The Good Fight – J.C. Ryle Let us settle it in our minds that the Christian fight is a good fight – really good, truly good, emphatically good. We see only part of it yet. We see the struggle, but not the reward; we see the cross, but not the crown. We see a few […]
