We all have it.
Got to have it.
Can’t do without it.
All our life – affected by it.
Time. It’s time.
What are you doing with yours?
Invest it, spent it, use it, waste it…
so easy… fiddling it away,
killing it slowly.
I choose to make a difference
in my tiny tiny world
with the way I spend my time.
How ’bout you?
It’s not easy, with this busy busy world.
Our agendas get all jammed up and
our high tech calls and calls
and takes and takes and takes.
We read and comment, play our games
and watch away our days:
TV, news and movies, social media, games
And soon our day is gone – it’s over.
Seconds, minutes, hours, days
and weeks and months and years – all gone.
And soon we have no time it seems.
Our living spent it all away.
What we wanted, what we filled up all our days with
took away our time.
What have we done with all we had.
All that time! What?
And now I die. And all that time – for what?
I leave it all behind. But oh no, yes –
I will account for what I’ve done
with all He gave me, all my time.
And then I stand before Him
and He asks me what I’ve done
with all the time He gave me.
I’m left to stand, just me,
before Him naked and in awe.
I am forgiven. Yes!
He has forgiven and forgotten and He’s put away my sins!
I will live forever blessed to reign with Him on High!
Glory, praise and Hallelujah’s all that I can say that day.
But I must give account for what I’ve done on earth right here,
what I was by grace in Him, and what I did with that,
born with His gifts deep inside of me
what did I do to grow, mature and be more like my Lord?
What did I do with all he gave me,
all I was and all the time I had?
What can I give or say or show Him
that I loved Him, served and gave – for Him alone?
No other thing will count
except true love for others,
acts of kindness, acts of joy and peace and love in Christ
as through my days and weeks and years
I walked the grocery aisles and streets
and did the gym and drove from here to there,
playing, working, being me.
He knows what I have done, on my own or – in His Spirit.
Living in the Spirit is the only thing that counts
when on that day I stand before Him
only that will count –
what I did while walking in the power of His Might.
Only what’s done for Christ will last.
It goes with me to heaven
as I stand and give account.
What in me is vanity and pride
such sinful rubbish,
worthless on that day?
So now I think and pray and bow before Him every day.
I ask God, “Fill me with Your Holy Spirit, power and Your grace.

10 For we are His workmanship [His own master work, a work of art], created in Christ Jesus [reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, ready to be used] for good works, which God prepared [for us] beforehand [taking paths which He set], so that we would walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us].
Swift AMP Paraphrase:
‘For we are His work of art, spiritually born again, reborn in Christ Jesus, ready to be used for good works which God Himself prepared specifically for us before we arrived on the scene, so that we would walk in those paths that were prearranged and made ready for us – to live the good life.’
For who [limited by human wisdom] knows what is good for man during his lifetime, during the few days of his futile life? He spends them like a shadow [staying busy, but achieving nothing of lasting value]. For who can tell a man what will happen after him [to his work, his treasure, his plans] under the sun [after his life is over]?
For we [believers will be called to account and] must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be repaid for what has been done in the body, whether good or bad [that is, each will be held responsible for his actions, purposes, goals, motives—the use or misuse of his time, opportunities and abilities].
22 But the fruit of the Spirit [the result of His presence within us] is love [unselfish concern for others], joy, [inner] peace, patience [not the ability to wait, but how we act while waiting], kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control….
10 According to the [remarkable] grace of God which was given to me [to prepare me for my task], like a skillful master builder I laid a foundation, and now another is building on it.
