We can never be saved by being sinless. Thank God! None would ever get saved then. But Jesus said, “Follow Me.” THAT is a choice. No matter how good or poorly we follow… He still forgives and saves the repentant sinner. So, what does it mean to “follow”?
“Those who are people of faith”
Do you claim to be “a person of faith”? There are many types out there! What faith do you claim as yours? Is your faith type following Jesus and what He taught? Is it truly yours? What makes you think that your type of “faith” is acceptable by Jesus? It’s certainly worth testing it. Eternally worth it!
The Overcoming Faith of Christ Followers
A faith that overcomes the daily faith challenges of life – is only possible because God made us brand new inside. Have you been made brand new – in Jesus?
Believe in the Name of Jesus
Believing “in the name…” means you believe in “all that Jesus Christ is and does”. Where are you at on this spectrum? Truly saved — almost but not — going to Hell for sure.
Saying no to Jesus is a dead faith with dead works
God calls His followers to reject sin (2 Corinthians 7:1), all that He calls “sin”, and press on to our upward calling (Philippians 3:12-14). Fake faith does not fool God.
What God Wants
Have you given any thought as to what God wants? What does God want from you? We are each unique creatures birthed into flesh by God. Life happens to us in seemingly capricious episodes of contrasting good and evil. Is your faith a true faith, a saving faith characterized by giving Jesus your love with “all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength”? That is what God wants. Don’t deny Jesus by your deeds.
Staying Alive
The faithful have a faith that is staying alive day by day.Through all our struggles, we keep our eyes on Jesus, saying yes to Him and saying no to sin – following Him by faith.
Sincerity and Truth
Was there sincerity in your repentance? Was there truth? Is there fidelity to Jesus in your faith?
