“…because the hand of the Lord his God was upon him.” – Ezra 7:6
We, the human race, are not alone, spinning around a planet in some far-off galaxy in a universe devoid of it’s Creator. Creator God continues His work in all of us. It behooves those of us who follow Him to get to know Him better.
What do we miss out on? What do we miss — because we do not take the time to understand what God has for us …in the Bible (2 Timothy 3:16)? It is all laid-out for us so we can understand Him better. How much do we not understand about God’s power in us and around us?
Christ followers need to study to understand better. We need to know the Bible (“the Scriptures”) and where the power is.
What do you know about the power of God? Do you live daily knowing that the same power is in you… that raised Christ from the dead?
In Matthew 22:verse 29, Jesus taught, saying:
[Amplified version] 29 “You are all wrong because you know neither the Scriptures [which teach the resurrection] nor the power of God [for He is able to raise the dead].
New American Standard Bible (NASB): 29 “You are mistaken, not understanding the Scriptures nor the power of God.
Who He blesses. The God of the Bible is powerful, and He blesses whom He chooses to bless. God is available to all, but how much do we miss out on because we do not “avail” of what is “available”?
– From the article: God is available to all
We must not underestimate
what God is willing and able to accomplish
– through us,
and through others,
for good, and/or for “bad”,
throughout history, or in these end times.
When it comes to God and His works
— it’s all good.
He wins in the end.
It is foolish to be afraid of God’s will.
We may have the Lord choose to lead us into purposes we now know not of. We may follow Him right into blessings we never thought of. God can bless us in many ways – if He so chooses. Am I available for Him?
Christ followers should not live independently. We should be intimately submitted, constantly connected — to the Spirit of God in us. This goes all the way back to the Old Testament even, which says “man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of the Lord.”
How can the dumbass lamb expect to live well without the Shepherd? Think you are “independent-enabled”? You, a defenseless lamb? Do you really believe you can beat the roaring lion? And Satan is only one of the enemies of our soul.
I am exceedingly powerful as a “beyond earth” new creation of God. But only in Him.
Ephesians 6:10
…be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might.
Speaking to the wandering Israelites, but applicable to us today, Moses said:
He humbled you and allowed you to be hungry and fed you with manna, [a substance] which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, so that He might make you understand [by personal experience] that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of the Lord.
Christ followers are not spiritual giants, walking tall and mighty, full of ourselves. We are weak creatures that need to be full of Him. ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit.’ We’re not mere puny humans now that we have been made brand new through salvation in Christ — but we are weak in our own power while on this planet.
Yes we are weak. But: We need to get over it! How are we strong?
We should say “by His Spirit”
Zechariah 4:6
‘Not by might
nor by power,
but by My Spirit,’
says the Lord of hosts.
We should say “if”.
James 4:verse 15
Amplified Bible (AMP)
15 Instead you ought to say,
“If
the Lord
wills,
we will
live
and
we will do this
or that.”
It is only as we allow the Spirit of God to work in and through us — that we are able to be a blessing to others. We should count on Him to use us for His purposes. Be willing, get ready, live ready… for His hand to be upon us to “live and to do of His good pleasure”.
The life you are living — is it ready and able, for the Lord? It might be small, not so great, but He wants us ready to serve Him with this life — while we have breath. Actually try to do the deed.
This Ezra went up from Babylon,
and he was a scribe skilled in the law of Moses,
which the Lord God of Israel had given;
and the king
granted him all he requested
because
the hand of the Lord his God
was upon him.
