I was drawn to this Fox News item (7/26/2019), Sports Illustrated model Haley Kalil says ‘sorry mom’ after dancing to tune containing ‘bad word’. The model said “sorry mom”. She was “sorry” because a “bad word” was in a song she danced to.
I wondered, What is her faith background? How did she arrive to her decision, and then apologize – to her mom? Does her faith matter to her?
I searched, and found https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haley_Kalil – but there was no indication of faith of any kind. Her husband, Matt Kalil, attended a Catholic school near where I went to high school. He went to Servite High School in Anaheim, California, “where he played for the Servite Friars high school football team. Again there was no indication of any faith of his.
Maybe they have a deep faith. Maybe they don’t. But nothing registers….
Made me wonder: how “public” about our faith are we in this land of the free? Does anything “register” with other people — about our faith?
Do people that meet me – soon come to know of my faith in Christ as my Savior? Do I care whether they know or not? Does it matter?
And what about God Himself? Does He know? Does it matter to Him? (It does matter according to this most scary of verses: Matthew 7:23)
What about you and “your faith”? Do people know of your faith in Jesus? Does it matter? Does it matter – what you beleive?
On what do you base your beliefs? Haley Kalil chose to dance to the bad word song, and apologized to her mom (but did it anyway and had the video published). Not really sorry, she continued on her way as before.
“Sorry” doesn’t cut it with God. He asks us to actually repent. There is an eternity of diffence. What choices are you making?
The Bible says we will spend eternity in one place:
- it might be we live in Hell,
or - it might be we live in Heaven.
And it all is decided by our will. It’s your choice. What a momentous choice! How much is heaven worth to you?
Does it matter to you where you will spend your eternity? You ready to lose it all? Jesus said “I am The Way“. Do you value Heaven enought to make sure you are following Him with all you got? If not, you’ve made your choice… to go the other way.
