Your Belief Base
Are all your beliefs based on a solid Christian biblical base – the Bible? Or has your thinking evolved, more like “de-volved” into a mishmash (hodgepodge, jumble) quagmire of personal preferences and contrived thought?
Five times the Apostle Paul emphasized that His “beliefs” were “faithful and trustworthy”.
Can you say that about what you claim as your truth? Is your “truth” Bible based? If not, it’s probably not taught by Jesus.
“This is a faithful
and trustworthy
statement,
deserving
full acceptance
and approval….”
Five times we find this clause in the New Testament: “This is a faithful and trustworthy saying…” 1
- 1 Timothy 1:15
- 1 Timothy 3:1
- 1 Timothy 4:9 (*verses 7-10)
- 2 Timothy 2:11
- Titus 3:8
15 [a]This is a faithful and trustworthy statement, deserving full acceptance and approval, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, among whom I am foremost. – 1 Timothy 1:15
8 This is a faithful and trustworthy saying; and concerning these things I want you to speak with great confidence, so that those who have believed God [that is, those who have trusted in, relied on, and accepted Christ Jesus as Savior,] will be careful to participate in doing good and honorable things. These things are excellent [in themselves] and profitable for the people. – Titus 3:8
