The Bible teaches that it is your spirit that moves you, this way or that way. Either it is full of light or it is full of darkness (“devoid of God’s word”).
Luke 11:34
“The eye is the lamp of your body. When your eye is clear [spiritually perceptive, focused on God], your whole body also is full of light [benefiting from God’s precepts]. But when it is bad [spiritually blind], your body also is full of darkness [devoid of God’s word].”
If “the lamp of your body” is focused on God, then it is allowing the light of God’s Word to fill you with all kinds of benefits. If not focused on God, your spirit is “spiritually blind”, and your spirit leads you into the dark side.
Spiritually perceptive
Are you “spiritually perceptive, focused on God”? “Full of light”?
or
Spiritually blind
Are you “spiritually blind”? “Full of darkness [devoid of God’s word]”?
Consider God worth knowing
The Bible teaches: be careful with your spirituality. The position you take with God — can lead you one way or another way: focused on Jesus, or blind to Him and to all He is.
If you are blind to Jesus, then you are on the way to an eternity without Jesus.
God acknowledges your choice. He never forces Himself onto you. IF you choose to relegate Him to a minor part of your way of life (or totally non-existent), He may give you over to “a depraved mind“. And, bummer of all bummers, you may never recover from that.

Does your life
reflect that you
consider God
worth knowing?
Romans 1:28-32
verse 28 “And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God or consider Him worth knowing [as their Creator], God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do things which are improper and repulsive….”
Filled to the brim
Inside our insides we have “a brim” (Mirriam-Webster: an upper or outer margin). If/when you arrive to a depraved low level, you will be filled up to the brim with all the bad that life presents to us all — what is not pleasing to God.
Want to go there? If already there: Want to repent? You can repent and turn to Him.
What are you filled with?
It’s your choice. You can remain there, or you can make that turn-around. God is asking us all to turn.
If you remain unrepentant, willful, getting it your way all the way, then you arrive to the verse 29 lowest of all low levels:
verse 29 until they were filled (permeated, saturated) with
every kind of unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice and mean-spiritedness.
They are gossips [spreading rumors], 30 slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors [of new forms] of evil,
disobedient and disrespectful to parents, 31 without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful [without pity].
Wow. Kind of scary. People all around us these days are on this lowest of low levels. Filled to the brim inside — with bad. Need we wonder where all the evil of these End Times is coming from?

The Believer in Christ
When you accept Jesus as Savior and Lord, a miracle happens in your life. Old things pass away (2 Corinthians 5:17). All, literally all things, become brand new.
John 1:16 For out of His fullness [the superabundance of His grace and truth] we have all received grace upon grace [spiritual blessing upon spiritual blessing, favor upon favor, and gift heaped upon gift].
This can happen if you walk in the light (Acts 11:24):
- both publicly and privately you become a good person,
- you are a positive benefit to yourself and to others
- you are full of the Holy Spirit
- you are full of faith towards God
- others find Jesus because of your testimony of righteous living
Acts 11:24
24 For Barnabas was a good man [privately and publicly—his godly character benefited both himself and others] and he was full of the Holy Spirit and full of faith [in Jesus the Messiah, through whom believers have everlasting life]. And a great number of people were brought to the Lord.
Be a person like Stephen:
“…they selected Stephen, a man full of faith [in Christ Jesus], and [filled with and led by] the Holy Spirit. – Acts 6:5
“The incomprehensible riches of Christ”
Believers are children of The Most High, and are heirs to “the incomprehensible riches of Christ”.
Ephesians 3:8
“To me, [though I am] the very least of all the saints (God’s people), this grace [which is undeserved] was graciously given, to proclaim to the Gentiles the good news of the incomprehensible riches of Christ [that spiritual wealth which no one can fully understand]….”
CSB This grace was given to me—the least of all the saints—to proclaim to the Gentiles the incalculable riches of Christ,
CJB To me, the least important of all God’s holy people, was given this privilege of announcing to the Gentiles the Good News of the Messiah’s unfathomable riches,
God has divided eternity
On one side of His reality is Hell. On the other side is Heaven (figuratively).
God’s Kingdom does not contain Hell. He separated-out all evil from His Kingdom. Hell is for all that, all who have rejected Jesus (including Satan).
Only followers of Jesus are part of His Kingdom. The sinners who refuse to repent? They belong to the other place called Hell, where nothing good exists.
