Introduction
Following Jesus today requires a different rubric, 1 than what wayward traditional churches blindly strayed into. So the question becomes: Who are you going to follow?
It’s a good thing to follow “wisdom” (Proverbs 8). Disregarding “wisdom” leads to bad consequences, like wickedness and remorse, oppression and bad governmental policies.
Where is your heart at? Are you Worldly or Godly?
Source: –What decides and settles your burning questions?
See references: 1 Corinthians 3:1; 1 Timothy 6:20; Titus 2:12; James 1:14; Jude 1:19
God has given us serious advice to follow, and it’s not in riddles. It’s very clear. See here for example, in one link: 1 Corinthians 3:1; 1 Timothy 6:20; Titus 2:12; James 1:14; Jude 1:19.
Are you honoring God, worshipping God, but doing it with a heart “far away from Me“, as Isaiah put it? Are you teaching mere traditions, as if what mere men say are “the commandment of God“, following a Pied Piper MerWeb ?

Mark quotes Isaiah
I absolutely hate religion and “the tradition of men” – because religions are man’s attempts to reach God. And they fail in that, miserably. I want to follow Jesus only – Jesus only always for all times. Don’t you? He will never fail.
“you hold to the tradition of men”
Mark quotes Isaiah, and in doing so, both he and Isaiah disqualify as worthless 2 Timothy 3:8 those who mix-in their own thinking with God’s think. He calls them “you hypocrites“. They say one thing – and do another, have a religious facade, but inside are full of dead mans bones. I don’t want to be found following humans! Oh horrors!
I am careful to examine my core beliefs – and follow only Jesus. How ’bout you? We must be careful to follow “the true and exact words of God” — not mere human thinking and weird imaginations of false teachers. 2
Mark 7:6-8 NASB
6 But He said to them, “Rightly did Isaiah prophesy about you hypocrites, as it is written:
‘This people honors Me with their lips,
But their heart is far away from Me.
7 And in vain do they worship Me,
Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’
8 Neglecting the commandment of God, you hold to the tradition of men.”
___________
This, “neglecting the commandment of God“, is what the Catholics do, the NAR-type Charismatics do, and most all of the mainline denominations do. If you “worship Me in vain” – then you are religious, but not forgiven. Scary thought.
“their heart is kept far away
from Me;
and they worship Me
in vain,
teaching as doctrines
the precepts of men.’”
– Mark 7:6-8 Berean Literal Bible
And that is what is pointed-out in this facebook page by Jovelyn Begaso. See the image above. Here, following, is the entire quote from her page, based on Revelation 17:4.

God doesn’t speak in riddles when He reveals this vision to John on the Isle of Patmos. He shows us a woman dressed in luxury, in purple and scarlet—colors long associated with wealth, royalty, and religious hierarchy.
She’s not holding a Bible. She’s not holding a cross.
She holds a golden cup full of abominations.
This is not holiness. This is deception wrapped in religion.
This is spiritual fornication—when institutions that claim God’s name lead people into idolatry, false worship, and alliance with the world.
TRUTH VS. TRADITION
Many are drawn to the beauty of outward tradition—the gold, the incense, the robes, the ceremony… but they don’t see the rottenness beneath.
Jesus warned of this very thing:
“Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones…” — Matthew 23:27 (KJV)
God is not impressed with robes and rituals. He’s looking for truth in the inward parts (Psalm 51:6). ![]()
WHO IS THIS WOMAN?
The imagery in Revelation 17 is symbolic—but powerful.
She is “The Great Whore” who commits spiritual adultery.
She rides the beast—partnered with world powers.
She is drunk with the blood of the saints (Revelation 17:6).
Many Bible students see this as a picture of religious systems that have departed from the gospel, replacing grace with ceremony, Christ with hierarchy, and truth with tradition. ![]()

COME OUT FROM HER, MY PEOPLE!
God is calling His people to wake up. To open their eyes. To test every spirit (1 John 4:1) and flee from spiritual deception.
“Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.”
— Revelation 18:4 (KJV)
This is not a call to hate people.
This is a call to leave false systems that pervert the truth of the gospel.
THE REAL CHURCH DOESN’T LOOK LIKE THIS
Jesus’ true Church isn’t decked out in scarlet robes and gold crowns.
“God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” — John 4:24 (KJV)
REMEMBER THIS:
Not every priest or preacher preaches the gospel.
Not every golden cup is holy.
The enemy loves to disguise himself in robes of light (2 Corinthians 11:14).
THE GOSPEL IS SIMPLE:
Jesus came, died for your sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day.
Believe on Him—and you will be saved. (1 Corinthians 15:1–4)
You need Jesus—and Him alone.

Are you religiously following vision-riddled thoughts imagined by mere puny humans – or “the true and exact words of God” (Revelation 19:9)?

THE GOSPEL IS SIMPLE:
Accepting all that Jesus Christ is and does
The Way to Salvation always involves obedience to Jesus
Salvation in Christ is beyond huge
The inclusive yet exclusive salvation in Jesus
God forgives all wrongdoings of all repentant sinners, no exception

“O foolish men, and slow of heart to trust and believe in everything that the prophets have spoken!”
– Luke 24:25

Making God speak…weird imaginations of false teachers
They in fact have seen nothing – Ezekiel 13:1-9
Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying, 2 “Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel who prophesy, and say to those who prophesy from their own [a]inspiration, ‘Listen to the word of the Lord! 3 This is what the Lord [b]God says: “Woe to the foolish prophets who are following their own spirit and have seen nothing!

Footnotes
- Merriam Webster: an established rule, tradition, or custom.
- Modified Excerpt from As Teachers of the Faith – Unqualified and Worthless:
False teachers in NAR-type churches are not merely sadly mistaken, not simply having been mislead.
They “oppose the truth“. They are “men of depraved mind“.
Scripture describes deceptive groups and leaders, such as NAR type leaders, as “unqualified and worthless [as teachers] in regard to the faith.” See in one link: Matthew 7:15, Matthew 24:10–11, Mark 9:42, 2 Corinthians 15:5, 1 Thessalonians 5:21, 1 Timothy 4:16,6:3–4, Titus 1:7–9; 2:1,7–8, 1 John 4:1,2 Peter 3:17.
In the New Testament, Apostle Paul is clear about this. If you want to get to heaven you have to have “the faith” (of Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Jude and Paul)… and apostates do not have it. You cannot get to Heaven by adhering to “another gospel” such as the faith of NAR-type teachers.
