Scripture was provided to us by God over the centuries — with warnings. Those warnings? We are urged to take them seriously – take it to heart. God’s warnings were given to guide us and keep us walking in His Ways.
The Biggest Warning
What is the biggest warning God gave throughout the Old Testament? Not just sort of big, but The Biggest Warning? He was adamant about it.
God’s first commandment (of ten) was the biggest warning given. It was emphasized throughout the Old Testament era:
“You shall have no other gods before Me.”
– Exodus 20:3
His warning came with a blessing and a curse Deuteronomy 11:26-28, a caution to be “careful to keep all this commandment which I am commanding you to do, to love the Lord your God, to walk [that is, to live each and every day] in all His ways and to hold tightly to Him—“. See: Deuteronomy 11:22-28
“to walk …in all His ways”
And then history on earth arrived to the point where the Godman Jesus Site Search: Godman arrived on earth. The very different New Testament era then was begun by the Savior.
_______
The New Testament Warnings…throughout the NT
What were the warnings given throughout the New Testament?
The Gospel message comes with warning labels (so to speak). There are many passages. Many. You really cannot miss them if you read the Bible. Here is a short list of some of them:
See this short list of 4 passages in one link or: 1 John 2:18-19, 1 Timothy 4:1; 1 Timothy 6:3-5; 1 Timothy 1:3-7.
For a bigger list, see: About False Teachings of Today listing these passages.

And don’t miss Luke 13:27 and this – Ephesians 4:17-19.
NOTE: Don’t rely on “once saved always saved” theology. I believe this, but….
The very clear warning to “believers in Jesus” is: Do not turn away from the faith given to us by the written Word of God.
“…in later times
some will turn
away from the faith,
paying attention instead
to deceitful and seductive spirits
and doctrines of demons….”
1 Timothy 4: verses 1-2
But the [Holy] Spirit explicitly and unmistakably declares that in later times some will turn away from the faith, paying attention instead to deceitful and seductive spirits and doctrines of demons, 2 [misled] by the hypocrisy of liars whose consciences are seared as with a branding iron [leaving them incapable of ethical functioning]….
Do not be deceived….
– 1 Corinthians 6:9-10
You turned away…1 Timothy 4: verses 1-2
If you are now an NAR-type Charismatic, then you have been deceived. You turned away from Truth. Some false teachers, or you yourself in your own thinking, have adulterated God’s pure Word with doctrines of demons. You bought into “needing something more than Jesus“.
You now follow “another gospel“
At some point you became double-minded. You accepted a different gospel. This “another gospel” has made you “an apostate“. Your ways are far from what Jesus and His disciples gave to us. Yours is a disobedient faith… worthless for entrance into His Kingdom.
If NAR-type Charismatics didn’t call themselves “Christian”, then it would be easier to overlook them. But they claim to be obedient followers of Jesus. Nothing could be farther from the followance Jesus requires. Paul even says of them that they were not really of us.
“…they were
not truly born again and
spiritually transformed…“
From 1 John 2:18-19 –
“19 They went out from us [seeming at first to be Christians], but they were not really of us [because they were not truly born again and spiritually transformed]”
Here’s a mouthful: If you are unequivocal in anti-biblical views – you are antithetical to what Jesus taught, and thus you are heretical, a heretic lost as Hell – as in “apostate”. (Well, then you are apostate.)
Be careful to do
Today we are still to pay close attention to NOT “following (acknowledging, worshiping) other gods” Deuteronomy 11:28.
The Old Testament warning is still set before us today – as it was set back then:
32 and you shall be careful to do
all the statutes and the judgments
which I am setting
before you today.
– Deuteronomy 11:32

The New Covenant Excerpt: The explanation is mainly in Hebrews 1, Hebrews 8, Hebrews 10, and 2 Corinthians 3. NAR foolishness: We must here deviate from the main topic to refute NAR foolishness. The New Covenant most certainly did not annul the Old Testament words from God.

Caught-up with a practice God has said not to practice? Excerpt: Are you genuine or false?
The assassin keeps his sin, practicing it. The fake believer keeps his sin, practicing it. The truly saved believer… repents and is forgiven.
Unlike the assassin, unlike the faker, the born again believer is repentant and persistent in his rejection of his sin. Rejection of your sin is part of “enduring to the end” (Matthew 24:13). See in one link or: 1 John 3:9, John 3:4-7, 1 Peter 1:2-6, 1 Peter 1:21-23.
Ways that displease God and end in destruction Excerpt: Life might seem willie nillie at times, but God has a design in-place for us here on earth. He warns us to follow Him and Him only. Have you made that conscious choice for life? God has warned us we will never enter His Kingdom unless we follow His Way. Here are more of His warnings explained.

unstable and restless

Are you “contrary” – not conforming to the Gospel?
As Teachers of the Faith – Unqualified and Worthless Excerpt: The more I study NAR teachings, the more sad I am for those who follow such apostate beliefs. Scripture describes deceptive groups and leaders, such as NAR type leaders, as “unqualified and worthless [as teachers] in regard to the faith.” We are warned to stay away from them.
The Seed of the Word was sown. What happened to yours?

If you’re going to God’s Home Heaven Do you like the classic tune of SAN FRANCISCO by Scott McKenzie? Here are some Christian lyrics to sing with that tune. Excerpt:
If you’re going to God’s Home, Heaven
Be sure to wear His robes of righteousness
Accepting all that Jesus Christ is and does
Don’t rely on “once saved always saved” theology Excerpt: Have you missed God’s grace because you missed God’s whole point? What’s the point of “following Jesus” if He is going a different direction than you? To accept anything less than “all that Jesus Christ is and does”… is to stop short of getting saved.

The Way to Salvation always involves obedience to Jesus…Yours is a disobedient faith Excerpt: Being saved involves truly following Jesus. The gist of James 2:20 tells us, Faith without resultant works — is dead. Got obedience in your life? Salvation never happens without obedience. Never did, never does, never will. I’d say, “Don’t count on it!”
But true repentance and followance? Now THAT you can take to the bank. Well, I mean the bank in Heaven where our treasures are: Matthew 6:20, Hebrews 11:6, OMGjesus search “rewards”!

This Warning is a strong one…Ephesians 4:17-19
* No longer live as they: living as unbelieving Gentiles, in the futility of their minds, in the foolishness of their souls, in the emptiness of their souls, darkened moral understanding, clouded reasoning, alienated from the life of God, self-banished from the life of God, no share in the life of God, deep-seated willful ignorance, deep-seated willful spiritual blindness, hardness of their heart, insensitivity of their heart, ungodly in their spiritual apathy, become callous, become unfeeling, given themselves over as prey to unbridled sensuality, eagerly craving the practice of every kind of impurity, eagerly craving every kind of impurity that their desires may demand.
“17 …you must no longer
live as the [unbelieving] Gentiles live,
in the futility of their minds
[and in the foolishness and emptiness of their souls],
18 for their [moral] understanding is darkened and
their reasoning is clouded;
[they are] alienated and self-banished from the life of God
[with no share in it;
this is] because of the
[willful] ignorance and
spiritual blindness
that is [deep-seated] within them, because of the
hardness and insensitivity of their heart.
19 And they, [the ungodly in their spiritual apathy],
having become callous and unfeeling,
have given themselves over
[as prey] to
unbridled sensuality,
eagerly craving the practice
of every kind of impurity
[that their desires may demand].
– Ephesians 4:17-19
