How do you know Jesus is returning to earth some day? We know because Scripture speaks on the topic. Jesus Himself said, “…I will come again and take you to be with me….”
The End… as Jesus predicted it
Jesus came to die for us (John 3:16-21). But He was also a prophet. Jesus predicted the destruction of Jerusalem (which did happen in 70 AD). He also speaks of the end times of the earth.
Philippians 1:6
I am convinced and confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will [continue to] perfect and complete it until the day of Christ Jesus [the time of His return]. – Philippians 1:6 Amplified Bible
Unrestrained sinful sinful humans
Even with the abiding presence of the Holy Spirit in us as born again believers, we humans sin and sin, and sin again. Imagine the scene after the Rapture, when un-redeemed humans will be sinning wantonly, without restraint.
He will live among them and He will wipe away every tear
The Rapture is first. But then Jesus will return again 7 years later to defeat His foes in the Battle of Armageddon. At that time He will establish a new order on earth. The dawning of a new order by God!
Jesus Returns to Earth Twice in the End Times
The Bible records that the first time Jesus came to earth – in the name of “Jesus” – was when He was born as a baby, Jesus of Nazareth. And there are two other days, coming soon, when Jesus will return — again.
One Day He’s Coming
One in thirty New Testament passages refer either directly or indirectly to the Second Coming of “the King of kings and Lord of lords.” (Rev 19:11-16) Twenty-three of the twenty-seven NT books mention that He is coming again. Finally, for every biblical reference to Jesus’ First Coming there are eight that point to His return! Clearly Jesus’ Second Coming is a truth which the Spirit desires for Christ’s Bride to frequently ponder
