As an orchid takes it’s naturally prescribed time to develop and blossom… so does a prophecy from God.
Prophecies in the Bible have been in our Bible for thousands of years. Some have “come to pass” (happened as predicted). Others – not yet.
Jesus and the Apostle Paul predicted events 2020 years ago! Then there are the prophets Daniel, Ezekiel, Isaiah, Enoch, writers of the Psalms, etc, from centuries behind them (or “before”, depending on your perspective) and some disciples such as Matthew, Mark, Luke, James.
So why are we just now in these modern days understanding so many prophecies that for years just sat there incomprehensible?
Even the angels did not understand. They longed “to look”. (“things into which angels long to look. [a Or gain a clear glimpse]) Even the prophecies of the baby to be born in a poor Bethlehem manger were not understood until after it happened.
Many of the many Bible prophecies given by God through His inspiration were meant to be kept hidden for ages. Time is an “essence” of God. We cannot fathom it. Doesn’t mean we have to NOT believe it. Have faith.
“…for the words are concealed and sealed up until the end of time.” – Daniel 12:9
“…those who are [spiritually] wise will understand. – Verse 10 of Daniel 12:8-13
God warned us that, for His purposes, He would keep some inspired prophecies hidden from understanding “until the end of time” (v9). Incomprehensible prophecies “hidden” in the Bible were given by God for our understanding in these later days: 12 It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves, but you, in these things….” – 1 Peter 1:12 NASB
41 As He approached Jerusalem, He saw the city and wept over it [and the spiritual ignorance of its people], 42 saying, “If [only] you had known on this day [of salvation], even you, the things which make for peace [and on which peace depends]! But now they have been hidden from your eyes.” – Luke 19:41-42
The times are in His Hands – to be brought into reality “just in time” as He deems fit.
- Ecclesiastes 3:1 There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven—
- Genesis 18:14 At the appointed time. Genesis 21:2; Job 22:16; Exodus 9:14; Psalm 102:13. See all 5 references on one page.
- “14 Is anything too difficult [a Or wonderful] for the Lord? At the appointed time I will return to you….”
- “2 So Sarah conceived and bore a son to Abraham in his old age, at the appointed time of which God had spoken to him.”
- “Who were snatched away before their time….”
- “14 For this time I will send all My plagues [a Lit to your heart]on you and your servants and your people, so that you may know that there is no one like Me in all the earth.“
We are understanding so many prophecies now because – The End, as Jesus called it, was His chosen period of time to reveal them to us. “The Bible has already told us where events will move toward”, says Pete Garcia in 2022: The Year in Review.
Within God’s precise timing of history – by 1948 He had purposely gathered scattered Jews from all corners of the globe – and THEN Israel was re-established as a nation in that year, 1948, per OT prophecies. (Jesus died in AD33, then Israel was destroyed in AD70, then Israel was re-established in 1948: 1,915 years after He died.)
Israel was re-established as a nation in 1948. This effectively started the end times. God is graciously giving us understanding of these end times — which now are our current events timeframe. See:

Those who are born again, reborn from above, are indwelt by the Holy Spirit, and thus, contrary to the world, we “have eyes that see”, we are (or at least can be…) spiritually wise. Daniel said, “…those who are [spiritually] wise will understand.” – Verse 10 of Daniel 12:8-13
16 But blessed
[spiritually aware, and favored by God]
are your eyes,
because they see;
and your ears,
because they hear.
– Verse 16 of Matthew 13:15-16
One large source of prophecies is the book of Daniel. Daniel (given the name Belteshazzar, chief of the magicians) was enabled by God to interpret many dreams for King Nebuchadnezzar (Dan. 1:17; 4:9-10, 18; 5:10-12, 14-16). But there were many which even Daniel could not understand. He said, v8 “As for me, I heard, but I did not understand.”
8 As for me, I heard, but I did not understand; so I said, “My lord, what will be the outcome of these things?” 9 And the angel said, “Go your way, Daniel, for the words are concealed and sealed up until the end of time.
10 Many will be purged, purified (made white) and refined, but the wicked will behave wickedly. None of the wicked shall understand, but those who are [spiritually] wise will understand.
11 From the time that the regular sacrifice [that is, the daily burnt offering] is taken away and the abomination of desolation is set up [ruining the temple for worship of the true God], there will be [b]1,290 days. 12 How blessed [happy, fortunate, spiritually prosperous] and beloved is he who waits expectantly [enduring without wavering for the period of tribulation] and comes to the [c]1,335 days!
13 But as for you (Daniel), go your way until the end [of your [d]life]; for you will rest and rise again for your allotted inheritance at the end of the age.” – Daniel 12:8-13 1
