Usually we hear about how free! salvation in Christ is for us. 1 Just come as you are…. That is all true. Yes.
However, we must agree with God and follow Him. THAT will cost us.
The Cost to God
Providing salvation for us cost Jesus His life. THAT cost Him. “It cost God plenty!” He came down to earth from His Glory, leaving behind His “normal”, and became a lowly human for 33 years. He allowed humans to treat Him evilly. THAT cost Him.
The Cost to Us
Salvation is to be freed from His righteous “God Damn” (from God’s “just condemnation”), from His Godly God Damn. And His salvation is freely offered to all mankind.
Scripture says, “Whosoever will may come.” This “salvation” happens when God forgives you and He makes you His Child – forever.
You accept – He forgives.
Salvation is free in the sense that we pay no money, pay no church, pay no official, don’t have to “clean-up your life”… in order to accept God’s salvation. But salvation is not “free” to anyone: it will cost you dearly.
The cost to you is comparatively nothing when you know what God is offering us. It’s like…
*When drowning – you must raise your hand to the rescuer. How costly is that?
*What “cost” is it for you if you have to walk up the hill to get a pot of gold?
God wants us all to be saved
However… we must respond to God’s call. The entrance to His Kingdom is at the door to your heart. Jesus is knocking.
Matthew 18:3…”I assure you and most solemnly say to you, unless you repent [that is, change your inner self—your old way of thinking, live changed lives] and become like children [trusting, humble, and forgiving], you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.”
The costly life of a true believer
Are you living the costly life of a true believer, one who is truly saved? Life Is Short. Can you say with confidence: Now I belong to Jesus? Simply believe in the name of Jesus (but know it will cost you). It matters… forever.
Accepting Christ as Lord
Believing “in the name…” means you believe in “all that Jesus Christ is and does“. 2 – Source: Believe in the Name of Jesus
I want to be welcomed Home by Jesus,
not welcomed Home to Hell.
Think of the reward of eternity with our loving God – forever in His Home Heaven. When you are finally there, what cost was it, really, to get there? I’d say a worthy life is worth the cost.
“Your life is a journey you must travel
with a deep consciousness of God.
It cost God plenty
to get you out of that dead-end,
empty-headed life you grew up in.
He paid with Christ’s sacred blood, you know.
He died like an unblemished, sacrificial lamb….”
