The Standard is set by God
I am frightened by the standard set by God for entrance into His Kingdom, into His Family. “Few there be that find it….” It is no small thing to be forgiven by God, accepted by God, made a child of God, to finally become a member of God’s family.
Salvation by Almighty God is done by Him as we give Him our all. If we do not respond by a life given-over completely to Him, then we are fooling ourselves. As stated by Christ (this is His teaching, not some tradition of a church):
Mark 12:28-31 28 One of the scribes came and heard them arguing, and recognizing that He had answered them well, asked Him, “What commandment is the foremost of all?” 29 Jesus answered, “The foremost is, ‘Hear, O Israel! The Lord our God is one Lord;
30 and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ 31 The second is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” (And also: Deuteronomy 6:5; Luke 10:27)
This is not a religious thing (giving Him your all). This is the standard Jesus expressed.
I must give God all of me, not bits and pieces. I cannot live flippantly 1 blithfully unaware like some yo-yo head – up and down and all “around the world”, going wherever I am thrown (by yet another “doctrine”), totally absorbed by my own interests and thoughts, and giving God “short shrift“.
Totally Given-over
If I am serious about the salvation message of grace by Jesus, I will totally immerse myself in His ways, let Him change my ways.
Like a cloth being dyed 2, I will take-on the colors of God’s choosing. I am daily seeking to change my colors for His colors, and become a more complex and rich design of His, not my own. Less of me and more of Him. – Source: What God wants

Staying Alive
Excerpt:
The faithful have a faith that is staying alive day by day.
Faithfulness is a process. We live, we try, we fail, we sin – but the faithful then repent, turn to God again, and move on in faith, believing God that we will be stronger next time. The faithful develop a pattern of an overcoming faith. The pattern we strive towards, each day, is: we live, we conquer, we act by the power of the Holy Spirit. Believers do not accept sin in their life as normal and acceptable before God.
