Got an attitude? Do you know the attitude God wants to see in you?
Scripture says that only “the righteous” will enter His Holy Kingdom. Think you’re good enough?
Only Jesus can make a sinner “good enough”. God requires you to be legally justified (ie “just as if I’d never sinned”) in God’s Heavenly Court. If you think you are not righteous, maybe it’s time to:
Allow God to turn your heart
Let God
“make ready [your name]
[perfectly] prepared
[spiritually and morally]
for the Lord.”
(Luke 1:17)
“The attitude of the righteous“
Announcing the birth of the prophet John the Baptist, an angel said to the priest Zacharias: “it is he” (John the Baptist) who would go “as a forerunner” just prior to Jesus arrival to earth.
God uses this angel’s appearance to tell all of us:
God wants us to have
“the attitude of the righteous“
The angel of God said this to Zacharias 1
17 It is he who will go as a forerunner before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers back to the children, and the disobedient to the attitude of the righteous [which is to seek and submit to the will of God]—in order to make ready a people [perfectly] prepared [spiritually and morally] for the Lord.” – Luke 1:17
Got an attitude?
By definition in the Bible, a righteous person is someone “walking blamelessly” in the sight of God (Luke 1:6). The righteous person has an attitude. That attitude says,
I want “to seek and submit to the will of God”
Are you the one who says that?
What is your attitude?
Luke 1:17
“…the attitude of the righteous [which is to seek and submit to the will of God]….”
God has been at work in people’s hearts since prior to Jesus’ death and resurrection. God is at work in your heart.
If you are not following Jesus, consider Him today. Why does God want us all to be saved?:
“—in order to make ready a people [perfectly] prepared [spiritually and morally] for the Lord.” – Luke 1:17
___________
If you already are a follower of Jesus:
“…let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. – Matthew 5:16

- Luke 1:5-6
5 In the days of Herod [the Great], king of Judea, there was a certain priest whose name was [c]Zacharias, of [d]the division of Abijah. His wife was [e]a descendant of Aaron [the first high priest of Israel], and her name was Elizabeth. 6 They both were righteous (approved) in the sight of God, walking blamelessly in all the commandments and requirements of the Lord.”
