What sort of person are you? Are you being diligent to be the sort that God wants? My focus is going to be on eternity with God!
Rely on the Spirit of God in you
It is the Holy Spirit that begins a new work in us – from the very moment of salvation in Christ. And God promises that He continues that good work in us all the way through to His return. What an amazing mystery, that Almighty God would choose to somehow enter His creation. He does not “lower Himself” nor condescend nor stoop… to do so. It is in His very nature to love us so. God is love and humbleness — in the same breath with His Omnipotence and unequaled Awesomeness.
Do not be unproductive
Day after day, habits are formed, time goes by… and soon you have it — “your way of life”. What kind of life are you living today? Day-in, day-out, day after day after day – we form habits, ways of doing what we do. Ever wonder what you are, what you really are like? […]
I live with confidence
Although I am not perfect, I have, growing in me…“love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control”. That grows confidence!
I am enough
In Christ I am enough. I’ve got it all, nothing needed, nothing missing. I am ready, steady and able because God Himself made me more than human, after all. I have everything needed, in me, to live a godly life — because of the power of God in me… since that moment in time that […]
Enemies of our soul
– The World, the Flesh, and the Devil. Excerpt from: An unguarded life August 22, 2018 These entities are the enemies of our soul – three (3) “forces” which are part and parcel of living on earth as humans: (1) the world, (2) the flesh, and (3) Satan. They are not going away – until […]
Put on the new
Being a “Christian” involves beginning to actually live what Christ taught. Have you come into the saving knowledge of Christ?
My wild and crazy stallion heart
My wild and crazy stallion heart has at times taken me away from God’s Ways. How ’bout you? The only good thing in that, is that God forgives all wrongdoings of all repentant sinners, no exceptions. I continue to repent of my sins. So, by God’s mercy — I am not the sum of all my sins. I am forgiven.
This is love
God is love, the Bible says. So, what is He like?
Good Fruit
Jesus taught that He is the Vine. And we are to be on that Vine – producing fruit. He explains that it is of upmost importance that we “abide” or remain in Him. Where are you “abiding”?
Bad Fruit
Even so, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the unhealthy tree bears bad fruit.Matthew 7:17
An unguarded life
No matter who you be… you are unwise to be that Dumbass Lamb “alone in green meadows surrounded by giant forests where wolves lurk”. Guard your life.
Enjoy spiritual well-being
We can live in contentment as we learn to walk the talk and stay close to God by our actions day to day. And when we fail, we confess our sin — and begin again renewed. That is spiritual wellness. That is the close walk with God.
Put this on
This passage, Colossians 3:5-17, is loaded! It is not ambiguous. It is a very clear description of “what I am to be” as a follower of Christ. Put it on! Being in Christ, we now have the power of God’s Spirit indwelling us with power — so that we are quite capable of not sinning. Genesis 4:7.
Be this everywhere all the time
I will determine, every day, to be this… everywhere all the time. I am motivated to actually be this type of person because of who I am in Christ, and because God Himself has chosen me to be His representative here (2 Corinthians 5: verses 5-21), for as long as He sees fit to – until He calls me home.
The gentleness of wisdom
I was so repelled by the anger of a radio preacher the other day. His voice was angry! So harsh, the sound. Why would a preacher sound angry preaching his sermon? He was yelling at me! Scripture shows us a different tone: “The gentleness of wisdom” (James 3:13-18). It seems to be so missing – […]
Being faithful, little by little
Faithfulness is a process. We live, we try, we fail, we sin – but the faithful then repent, turn to God again, and move on in faith. The faithful are little-by-little-faithful. No person on earth is totally faithful to God all at once. They are not sinless. They are not saved in the end because they sinned less than “the other guy”. Does the way you live – show that you “love the Lord your God with all your heart”? Is your heart on the altar – 100%? Or is your heart cracked?
Be strong in the Lord
We are the nation of God – on earth. The nation that is strong is the “Determination“ We must determine to be strong in the Lord – in His strength, actually actively in His Spirit. Or else we walk in the flesh, in our own weakness, and fail Him. Genesis 12:2 Amplified Bible (AMP) And […]
Being Wise & Understanding
The wisdom from God reveals itself through our good behavior. A wise person shows his/her spiritual wisdom by their resulting good behavior (James 3:13-18). Are you spiritually wise and understanding? Look at your inner soul, and your outward actions, the things you do. That will tell you if you are spiritually wise and understanding. The […]
Are You Ready, Steady and Able?
In our walk as believers, the biblical norm we aspire towards as Christians is an extremely high standard. In fact, it is an impossible norm – unless we are consistently filled with the Holy Spirit. Are you? The only way we can be who we truly are in Christ – is to be filled by His Spirit.
Gritty-Plain Living
Featured Image: Qureshi, a Muslim convert to Christianity, passed away in 2017 at 34 after a year-long battle with stomach cancer. Reference: Nabeel Qureshi Funeral: Ravi Zacharias Reflects on ‘Abnormal’ Life, Faith of His ‘Son’ The great majority of us humans live plain and mundane, unexciting lives, do we not? (Read Job 7:17-18.) None of […]
Actually act on what you know
Do you “prefer the plain meaning to the obscurantist theology of unbelief”? Do you “call forth what’s [yours] in Christ without double-mindedness”? (Andrée Seu Peterson) “…act upon the knowledge of faith….” – Francis Schaeffer.
The Power of Now
Have you staked everything solely on the word of Jesus? That is what it takes to live for Jesus.
The Holy Spirit in You?
When we accept Christ, the whole universe becomes our family domain! We become a child of Creator God. Our new life, spirit and soul, begins eternal life as the Holy Spirit of God, part of the “three in one” mysterious Triune God, takes up residence in our body.
Befuddled and Besmirched
Is your “happy” gone? What’s your problem? We all have sin we should be working on. But we do not have to continue in our sin, vile to Jesus. I try to practice admitting I was wrong. We can turn to God in prayer, confess it all, repent of it all….
How Prayer Works
Prayer is a mysterious thing, is it not? Praying: I come to God through my spirit, with my soul speaking from my mind and heart. Prayer “works” because God is gracious and forgiving. And He Himself asks us to come into His presence. The Bible says God hears and responds – to even the most vile of sinners.
Stand Strong
Sinning is basically: “failing God”. But when we confess… He forgives. We can “gear up” if we “Put on the full armor of God” (Ephesians 6:10-17). Then we can “back-up our talk with our walk.” (See “What We Are To Be”)
Inexhaustible Patience
“…with inexhaustible patience and [faithful] teaching.” You got it? INexhaustible patience? In our relations with other people, and especially those of the faith, the norm we aspire towards as Christians — is totally unreachable without the power of the Holy Spirit working in and through us. Quite a high standard! 2 Timothy 4:2 Amplified Bible […]
Distracting Meaningless Things
Turn my eyes away from vanity [all those worldly, meaningless things that distract —let Your priorities be mine], And restore me [with renewed energy] in Your ways. – Psalm 119:37
More Than Conquerors – In Christ
What kind of faith are you experiencing as a follower of Jesus Christ? What is your daily experience? How can you become “more than conquerors?
