4 “I say to you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that have nothing more that they can do. 5 But I will point out to you whom you should fear: fear the One who, after He has killed, has authority and power to hurl [you] into [b]hell; yes, I say to you, [stand in great awe of God and] fear Him! – Luke 12:4-5
You are of great value to God. He died for you, on purpose, to save your soul for all eternity. He cares about you (John 3:16-17).
These are troubling days, for sure. Biblical prophecy appears to be happening right before our eyes. What a wild and woolly rollercoaster ride we are on. But Jesus said for us: Do not fear, I will help you.
When we face difficult times in our life we must keep our eyes on Jesus. He is the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). He will carry us through. You can be the one who endures and overcomes.
Jesus encouraged us, saying not to worry about death at the hands of another:
4 “I say to you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that have nothing more that they can do. 5 But I will point out to you whom you should fear: fear the One who, after He has killed, has authority and power to hurl [you] into [b]hell; yes, I say to you, [stand in great awe of God and] fear Him! – Luke 12:4-5
do not be afraid
or tremble in dread
before them,
for it is the Lord your God
who goes with you.
He will not fail you
or abandon you.”
– Deuteronomy 31:6
“Your life is a journey you must travel
with a deep consciousness of God.
It cost God plenty
to get you out of that dead-end,
empty-headed life you grew up in.
He paid with Christ’s sacred blood, you know.
He died like an unblemished, sacrificial lamb….”
– 1 Peter 1:18-21 The Message (MSG)
“…be strong in the Lord
[draw your strength from Him…”
– Ephesians 6:10-13 Amplified Bible (AMP)
“The steadfast love of the Lord
never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end.
They are new every morning.
Great is your faithfulness.”
– Lamentations 3:22-23 ESV
FOR MORE:
“Do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that have nothing more that they can do….” Rather, “fear the One who, after He has killed, has authority and power to hurl [you] into hell.” (Luke 12:4-5) Yes I can – I can stand strong.
