The fears and tears and sadness of Paul the Apostle
Why the tears, Paul?
Quoting the teachings of Jesus:
* What caused the Apostle Paul to be sad with tears and fears? See Colossians 2:18: He was saddened because good people were being led away from salvation in Christ.
Who were misleading these good folk Paul wept for? It was the charismatic (NAR types) “unspiritual minds” which were robbing pew sitters of their prize in Christ (“your freedom in Christ and your salvation“).
18 Let no one defraud you of your prize [your freedom in Christ and your salvation] by insisting on mock humility and the worship of angels, going into detail about visions [he claims] he has seen [to justify his authority], puffed up [in conceit] by his unspiritual mind….

* What did Matthew, the disciple of Jesus, strongly warn about? See Matthew 7:13-23: Do the will of My Father. Getting born again is not merely a matter of saying, “Lord, Lord….”
21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven.
* What did the writer of the 3rd NT book warn about? See Luke 13:27: Keep your faith unadulterated by evil. Who have adulterated their faith (getting into a faith that does not save)? If you add something else to Jesus – you create a sterile religion.
27 but He will say to you, ‘I do not know where you are from; depart from Me, all you evildoers!’

What are they teaching right in there in your church?
Your prize is
salvation in Christ
alone
(Colossians 2:18)
Defrauding many of salvation …Colossians 2:18
Especially in these End Times, this issue is up front and center: the captivating “musings of mere men” (NAR types) who adulterate the true Gospel, capturing pew sitters with unbiblical, deceptive philosophy.
“Unbiblical” equals “not able to save”
Are you caught in a church philosophy that is not able to save?
Into infidelity
Instead of sticking to the Truth, which is “the teachings of Christ”, NAR type false teachers lead their flock away from fidelity to Christ and into infidelity — as sure as whores lead a man away from his wife. How damning is that?
References about idolatry – greed, sexual immorality, whores and a spirit of prostitution: Revelation 17:15,Psalm 106:39,Hosea 4:12,Romans 1:29,Galatians 5:19,Ephesians 5:3,Colossians 3:5,Judges 2:17
Colossians 3:5 AMP
5 So put to death and deprive of power the evil longings of your earthly body [with its sensual, self-centered instincts] immorality, impurity, sinful passion, evil desire, and greed, which is [a kind of] idolatry [because it replaces your devotion to God].
Colossians 2:8-10
8 See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception [pseudo-intellectual babble], according to the tradition [and musings] of mere men, following the [a]elementary principles of this world, rather than following [the truth—the teachings of] Christ.
9 For in Him all the fullness of Deity (the Godhead) dwells in bodily form [completely expressing the divine essence of God]. 10 And in Him you have been made complete [achieving spiritual stature through Christ], and He is the head over all rule and authority [of every angelic and earthly power].
in Him you have been made complete
[achieving spiritual stature through Christ]
“for His divine power
has granted to us
everything pertaining to
life and godliness”
See: 2 Peter 1:1-12 NASB
If you have been captivated (v8), you have been led astray into practices which Jesus rejects. We do not need anything more than Christ — because we are complete in Him. Paul, Matthew, and Luke warn us about those who contradict Jesus. See Deluding Activity of Error:
Excerpt: “It is quite clear, and simple.
“God is against: falsely claiming visions or dreams or words of God, knowingly faking miracles, faking speaking in tongues, fake “word of faith”, defrauding others (leading them away from the ultimate prize, salvation; mock humility, worship of angels, justifying one’s elevated authority by detailed, fake visions, being conceited and puffed up (self-important, egotistical), maintaining an unspiritual mind.”
– Source: Deluding Activity of Error:
The Scriptures are written very clearly for us to understand. What Jesus taught is simple. A child can clearly understand. BUT it is the mumbo-jumbo gibberish of defrauders who misinterpret Scriptures, turn a deviant, sharp left, and lead others down a broad road that leads to destruction.
“Do not believe it”
Deceptions are strong and aim to pull away “if possible even the elect”. See: Matthew 24:23-25 and Mark 13:19-23.
“21 And then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the [p]Christ’; or, ‘Look, there He is’; do not believe it“
I do not hold a corner on the market of truth, but Jesus does. False teachers deviously elevate their own musings to the level of Jesus and all Scripture, thus defrauding pew sitters of true salvation — as did Joseph Smith (the errant Mormon faith), Mohammed (the errant Muslim faith), and all the rest of them: purveyors of a religious fervor that does not save people for Heaven.
Why the tears, Paul? Because they are still damned, still willful, unforgiven, unrepentant, unwilling to bow the knee in obedience to His Way. They slip slide away into their “made-up” false teachings and those of others. So many “other gospels” that do not save!
Instead of going the right way they went their own way with their own thinking. That is what a cracked heart does. So, so sad. So eternally sad.
We have been warned. The Apostle Paul warned us:
Acts 20:30-31
“even from among your own selves men will arise, speaking perverse and distorted things, to draw away the disciples after themselves [as their followers].
31 Therefore be continually alert, remembering that for three years, night or day, I did not stop admonishing and advising each one [of you] with tears.”
