Getting Saved by God
Getting saved is absolutely necessary for each of us puny humans. Why? Because God is Holy, and we are not (Isaiah 53:6).
Ever thought on that? We are the opposite of holy. We are abjectly unholy. Vile when put to the Light.
Raise your hand if you you think you are (“holy”) sinless! –You’re deluded!
8 If we say we have no sin [refusing to admit that we are sinners], we delude ourselves and the truth is not in us. [His word does not live in our hearts.] – Verse 8 of 1 John 1 AMP

I mean: Look at yourself! Do you have even a clue who you actually are, that speck in this grand expanse of our universe? Who do you think you are?
How can you dare propose that you can even get past His “low-level” angels at the Gates of Heaven, much less approach His Holy Throne? You’ve got to be kidding me! You can’t even get off this planet before you die, much less beam over to God Almighty with your excuses!

Pray to Jesus
The good news is that, no matter how evil we may have been, or how vile we are now, God provides each of us the privilege of prayer. We can beam up our voice to Him, so to speak.
Any dirty rotten sinner (or deceived “Karen” who thinks she’s empowered) can pray directly to God. No priest needed! I did. Jesus saved me.

Salvation… getting saved
It is about following Jesus. God the Father sent Jesus to earth as the one-and-only Godman: fully God, and fully man.
See: | God as man – the short version |
| Our perfect God and our response to Him |
Jesus explains His one-off offer of salvation like this: You must deny, take up, and follow. It’s all about going before God in prayer with true confession. If you accept Him, He will accept you.
You cannot have it your way: Anything plus Jesus… is not acceptable to Jesus.
His offer is found here in Luke 9:23 (and in many other passages). This verse is what it means to actually “Believe in the name of Jesus“:
he must deny himself
[set aside selfish interests],
and take up his cross daily
[expressing a willingness
to endure whatever may come]
and follow Me
conforming to My example in living
and, if need be, suffering
or perhaps dying because of faith in Me].
– Luke 9:23
If you accept Him,
He will accept you.
The Bible
In the Bible is a message of hope from God. The Bible basically is
(1) About sin, which separates us from God,
and
(2) About salvation, which gives us eternal life.
The Bible teaches that salvation is found only in Christ Jesus. Makes sense: One God – One Way.
There is no other road to Heaven. Not a chance, except your chance right now to choose Jesus.
See: Jesus only always for all times
He alone gives us entrance into His Kingdom. Positionally it happens instantly, whereas physically it will happen when we die (or are Raptured up!). That’s it. Jesus gives no other option.
Jesus said to him, “I am the [only] Way [to God] and the [real] Truth and the [real] Life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. – John 14:6
Makes sense: His Kingdom – His Way. That is the gist of God’s message in a nutshell.
The Basics of the Bible
God began Creation and created Adam and Eve. (Read the book of Genesis for more about that.) Later He established His chosen people through Abraham.
They, the Jewish people, were to establish the Judaic practice of animal sacrifice for the forgiveness of sin. It was the sacrificial system which would model the later sacrifice on a cross — of the perfect Lamb of God, Jesus.
Prophets wrote His messages for us, as recorded in manuscripts and then published as the Bible, first the Old Testament, beginning with Genesis, then the New Testament, beginning with the book of Matthew.
To communicate His Message, God caused the Bible to be written throughout the course of 100’s of years. And it’s all accurate. The Bible is “able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation”.
Prophecies predicted a coming Messiah.
See:
| Jesus Was The Christ, The Messiah Sent From God |
| Believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Anointed One |
| Prophecies in the Bible: a perfect track record |
Jesus is that Messiah. Jesus claimed to BE God. He Himself fulfilled over 365 Old Testament prophecies! God wants us to hear His message, and be saved.
His Kingdom – His Way
God is asking you to repent
His message is the saving knowledge of Jesus: Jesus Christ – who saves sinners by His grace. Oh how marvelous – His grace!

Your salvation
In Romans 10 the Apostle Paul expresses the extreme love that God has for us, His Creation. He says,
“…my heart’s desire and my prayer to God for them is for their salvation.” (v1)
God wants each one of us, His creation, to be saved. Have you been saved by God?
He is there for you now. He is not distant.
God is “[extraordinarily] patient” towards His creation:
2 Peter 3:9
The Lord does not delay [as though He were unable to act]
and is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness,
but is [extraordinarily] patient toward you,
not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.
Some wise guys scoff because of Jesus’ “delay” in coming back, as they put it. How dumb, to scoff at God. Jesus is coming soon — but He is allowing years to fly by in order to give us more of a chance to choose Him – and live. His “delay” shows us just how much He loves us.
God has not delayed. His time frame is not like ours.
See: Time as it really is
Romans 10: verses 1-4
Brethren, my heart’s desire and my prayer to God for them is for their salvation.
2 For I testify about them that they have a zeal for God, but not in accordance with knowledge.
3 For not knowing about God’s righteousness and seeking to establish their own, they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God. 4 For Christ is the end [a Or goal] of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. – Romans 10: verses 1-4
Earth is full of zealots “for god”, but they get lost in their zeal, which leads them in exact opposite directions from the “living waters” (as an analogy) — easterly into the dry deserts – instead of westerly into the fountain, the Truth in the Bible, the oasis of living waters. Jesus said He is the One who gives “living water” – eternal life (John 4:7-26).
See: I give them eternal life (John 10:27-30)
What you say|What you do|Who you are inside
Getting “saved” by Jesus, is 100% a thing of the heart. If your life doesn’t follow your confession, then you did not get saved. Simple.
What good is that?
See: Streaming from my soul
If what you say does not get shown by what you do, well then — what good is that? What good was what you merely said? That faith? No good (James 2:18-26). Tragic for many, many who live in error.
Acts 17:30-31
Therefore God overlooked and disregarded the former ages of ignorance;
but now He commands all people everywhere to repent [that is, to change their old way of thinking, to regret their past sins, and to seek God’s purpose for their lives],
31 because He has set a day when He will judge the inhabited world in righteousness by a Man whom He has appointed and destined for that task,
and He has provided credible proof to everyone by raising Him from the dead.”
The Samaritan Woman in John 4 (not a direct quote, except for the parts in quotation marks)
The woman at the well was asked by Jesus, “Give Me a drink.”
She answered, “How is it that You, being a Jew, ask me, a Samaritan woman, for a drink?” (For Jews have nothing to do with Samaritans.)
Jesus responded: ““If you knew [about] God’s gift [of eternal life], and who it is who says, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him [instead], and He would have given you living water (eternal life).”
He continued, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again. 14 But whoever drinks the water that I give him will never be thirsty again. But the water that I give him will become in him a spring of water [satisfying his thirst for God] welling up [continually flowing, bubbling within him] to eternal life.”
23 … a time is coming and is already here when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit [from the heart, the inner self] and in truth;
for the Father seeks such people to be His worshipers.
24 God is spirit [the Source of life, yet invisible to mankind], and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
25 The woman said to Him, “I know that Messiah is coming (He who is called Christ—the Anointed); when that One comes, He will tell us everything [we need to know].”
26 Jesus said to her, “I who speak to you, am He (the Messiah).”
