God keeps His Word. Every time. And He promised Israel a land of their own in Canaan. Many questioned this over the centuries, and many still do – even after 1948 when God finally established Israel as a nation again. That was a miracle accomplished by God according to His promise.
God promised Israel a land
Amos was given a promise that God would bring the Jews back from exile, and that He would protect Israel:
14 “Also I shall bring back the exiles of My people Israel,
And they will rebuild the deserted and ruined cities and inhabit them:
They will also plant vineyards and drink their wine,
And make gardens and eat their fruit.
15 “I will also plant them on their land,
And they shall never again be uprooted from their land
Which I have given them,”
Says the Lord your God. – Amos 9:14-15
Some say modern day Israel is NOT the Israel of the Old Testament, that old Israel is dead and gone. So Amir Tsarfati wrote in answer to them: If Modern Israel Is Not Biblical Israel, Then Why Is The God Of The Bible Protecting It? | Amir Tsarfati | Nov 27, 20223.
“I will also plant them
on their land,
And they shall never again
be uprooted
from their land
Which I have given them,”
– Verse 15 of Amos 9:14-15
Israel today
The Israel of today is the modern result of God’s promises to the Jews of old. Today’s Israel is the nation promised of God in the Old Testament – the same people of God from Abraham.
Jews in Israel are not “occupiers”, as Palestinians and even some wayward churches protest. We know this because God said:
Genesis 12:7. Then the Lord appeared to Abram and said, “I will give this land to your descendants.” So Abram built an altar there to [honor] the Lord who had appeared to him.
Genesis 17:18-19 18 And Abraham said to God, “Oh, that Ishmael [my firstborn] might live before You!”
19 But God said, “No, Sarah your wife shall bear you a son indeed, and you shall name him Isaac (laughter); and I will establish My covenant with him for an everlasting covenant and with his descendants after him.
Genesis 12:3. And I will bless (do good for, benefit) those who bless you,
And I will curse [that is, subject to My wrath and judgment] the one who curses (despises, dishonors, has contempt for) you. And in you all the families (nations) of the earth will be blessed.”
Zechariah 12:3. And in that day I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples; all who lift it will be severely injured. And all the nations of the earth will come and be gathered against it.
Nations have tried to erase Israel.
They tried before, and they are trying to now (November 2023). But God protected His people:
Before the Six-Day War of 1967 President Abdur Rahman Aref of Iraq said: “The existence of Israel is an error which must be rectified. This is our opportunity to wipe out the ignominy which has been with us since 1948. Our goal is clear — to wipe Israel off the map.” Iraq joined the military alliance with Egypt, Jordan, and Syria on June 4 [1967]. – From Amir Tsarfati article | Amir Tsarfati is a former Deputy Governor of Jericho, Israeli tour guide, author, and the Founder and President of Behold Israel.
And all the nations of the earth
will come and be gathered
against it. – Zechariah 12:3
As far back as Genesis 12:3, God has been at work to accomplish His salvation through the seed of Abraham, through Isaac. That is a long time!
He continues to protect Israel – for the good of all peoples. After all – Jesus the Messiah was born from the seed of Abraham.
And in you
all the families
(nations) of the earth
will be blessed.” – Genesis 12:3
Before it’s too late
Salvation for the world came through the Jew – Jesus the Messiah! He was the mystery revealed!
The mystery of salvation was revealed through the birth, life, death and resurrection of Jesus the Messiah. Will you make Jesus your Lord and Savior now — before it’s too late?

“According to the Torah, the land God promised to Abraham was originally called Canaan.
“And Terah took his son Abram and his grandson Lot, the son of Haran, and his daughter-in-law Sarai, his son Abram’s wife, and they went out with them from Ur of the Chaldeans to go to the land of Canaan; and they came to Haran and dwelt there” (Genesis 11:31 NIV). – Source: Abraham’s Family Feud – Part 1 | Randy Nettles | 11.24.2023

“Who are the modern-day Palestinians? What are the historical origins of the Palestinians, and why are they in constant conflict with the nation of Israel? What does the Bible have to say about this conflict and how it will end?
“After Terah died in Haran, Abram departed and traveled to the Promised Land. “So Abram departed, as the Lord had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran. And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother’s son, and all their substance that they had gathered, and the souls that they had gotten in Haran; and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan; and into the land of Canaan they came” (Genesis 12:4-5 NIV).
“It was at this time that the LORD appeared unto Abram and made a promise (an unconditional covenant) to him. “And the Lord appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto your seed will I give this land: and there built an altar unto the Lord, who appeared unto him.” Abram and his family entered the land of Canaan in 2084 AM (1876 BC according to my reckoning). Abram was 75 years old at this time.
Became known as Arabs
“The descendants of Ishmael became known as Arabs, which basically means “nomads.” From the beginning, the descendants of Ishmael were a warlike people, as “they lived in hostility toward all the tribes related to them” (Genesis 25:18 NIV). This fulfilled God’s earlier word that Ishmael would be “a wild donkey of a man; his hand will be against everyone and everyone’s hand against him, and he will live in hostility toward all his brothers” (Genesis 16:12 NIV).

“Great article and a picture of the history of Israel. I could see the grace and mercy of God all the way through the victory and failure of the nation to obey God. This is so pertinent to where we are in the current world situation, especially in Israel.”
