– Based on the article: Practicing Sin, Not Following Christ
Are you confused about what it takes to get to God’s Home Heaven? Do you know The Door to Heaven?
We who know about Jesus and want to spend eternity with Him – must not allow the world’s ways to become our ways. We must fight the good fight against the enemies of our soul that oppose God’s Way: the world, the flesh, and the Devil.
How are you doing with that? Do you want to be a part of “the life of God“? I sure do. 1
If you do want to be a part of “the life of God” throughout the ages, then, as the Bible says it, you must not
“…carry out the desire of the flesh“.
Many want it “their way”. 2 But Jesus’ Way is very distinct from man’s way. So be careful: our heart is deceitful, tricky.
Jeremiah 17:9 “The heart is deceitful above all things And it is extremely sick; Who can understand it fully and know its secret motives?
What following Christ is NOT
Following Christ? The Bible tells us – NOT IF you are:
NOT IF you are:
1. Keeping sin, believing that God is so loving that you can be keeping sin AND getting God’s holiness also. Not happen’in! See: Me, when I die, still in sin
NOT IF you are:
2. Disobeying God, practicing what He already told us not…. On That Day He still will be saying, “I am against you.” (Ezekiel 13:8)
Do you think
anyone will be in Heaven
to whom God said,
“I am against you”?
– Source: “I am against you”, God says
NOT IF you are:
3. Claiming a sin as God’s will for you.
NOT IF you are:
4. Accepting Jesus – plus some other.
NOT IF you are:
5. Having “the talk” but not “the walk”. Thinking that being with and associating with Christians makes you “good to go”. Jesus said no. It’s like why suckling with the mother cat does not make the piglet a kitten.
“Faith without works is dead.” – James 2:14-26. The works of your walk do not save you, but they are inevitably there if you are truly saved.
“Getting saved is like the proverbial example: Staying in a garage does not make you a car. So it is true that: Liking Jesus does not make you a born again Christian.” – Source: Why suckling with the mother cat does not make the piglet a kitten
Matthew 10:38 And the one who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.
Matthew 16:24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me.
Matthew 19:21 Jesus said to him, “If you wish to be complete, go and sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”
NOT IF you are:
6. Lacking one thing, but you supposedly have it all together for Jesus. The rich young ruler (Mark 10:17; Luke 18:18; Matthew 19:16) thought he was good to go. But Jesus said – not. Are you listening to the still small voice of the Holy Spirit speaking for Jesus now? Or…
Are you still looking for loopholes? Or are you still in that rut, doing religion and philosophizing?
“how will we escape [the penalty] if we ignore such a great salvation [the gospel, the new covenant]? For it was spoken at first by the Lord, and it was confirmed to us and proved authentic by those who personally heard [Him speak]. – Hebrews 2: verse 3
It is a fearful thing to consider being rejected by a damning God. How far would you go to NOT be God-damned?
– Source: One thing you lack
NOT IF you are:
7. Supporting evil. The consequences of supporting evil are eternal. It’s like hate. Hating is life changing – eternal life changing. Scary thought. If you are supporting what is evil then you are trying to serve two masters and the Truth is not in you. Evil is always contradicting Jesus. It contradicts what Jesus taught.

Practicing a sin
The Gospel of Jesus, which is shared in detail by Matthew, Mark, Luke, John and Paul (and the other New Testament writers) is quite definitive. All over the place, they state that, if this is characteristic of you (practicing a sin) then you are not following Christ, but rather – your faith is one of the wayward seeds in the parable of The Sower and the Seeds (Luke 8:4-15).
(Galations 5, verse 21)
“I have forewarned you,
that those who
practice such things
will not
inherit the kingdom of God” :
Galatians 5:16-21 NASB
“But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh.
17 For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit,
and the Spirit against the flesh;
for these are in opposition to one another,
so that you may not do the things that you please.
18 … 19 Now the deeds of the flesh are evident,
which are:
immorality,
impurity,
sensuality,
20 idolatry,
sorcery,
enmities,
strife,
jealousy,
outbursts of anger,
disputes,
dissensions,
factions,
21 envying,
drunkenness,
carousing,
and things like these,
of which I forewarn you,
just as I have forewarned you,
that those who practice such things
will not inherit the kingdom of God.
Ephesians 4:17-22 17 …just as the Gentiles also walk,
in the futility of their mind,
18 being darkened in their understanding,
excluded from the life of God
because of the ignorance that is in them,
because of the hardness of their heart;
19 and they, having become callous,
have given themselves over to sensuality
for the practice of
every kind of impurity
with greediness.
Ephesians 5:3-5 (footnotes removed)
3 But sexual immorality or any impurity or greed must not even be mentioned among you, as is proper among saints; 4 and there must be no filthiness or foolish talk, or vulgar joking, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks. 5 For this you know with certainty, that no sexually immoral or impure or greedy person, which [e]amounts to an idolater, has an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.
5 For this you know with certainty,
that no immoral or
impure person or
covetous man,
who is an idolater,
has an inheritance in
the kingdom of Christ and God.

Examine yourselves
“Have you sat back recently to carefully examine your faith and practices in the Light of the Bible? God instantly makes us a new creation when we are truly born again – reborn from above. We know that moment in time happened when we “deliberately, knowingly, and habitually” reject sin (1 John 3:9).” 3
_______________
On That Day there will only be One Judge. And it will most definitely be Jesus: not you, not me. Jesus can forgive us of ANY sin, but we must repent and follow Him.
– Luke 8:18
“So be careful how you listen;
for whoever has [a teachable heart], to him more [understanding] will be given; and whoever does not have [a longing for truth], even what he thinks he has will be taken away from him.”

Why suckling with the mother cat does not make the piglet a kitten
God is patient towards us, and is working in your life to draw you to Himself. At least for today! For “…as long as it is still called “Today”:
“…encourage one another every day, as long as it is still called “today,” so that none of you will be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.” – Hebrews 3:13
“Today if you hear His voice,
Do not harden your hearts.” – Hebrews 4:verse 7
FOR MORE:
Follow Me …Jesus said
John 21:19-22. “Follow Me [walk the same path of life that I have walked]!”
Luke 9:23. “deny himself…take up his cross daily… and follow Me”
Matthew 10:38 And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.
You must be born again:
John 3:3
Jesus answered him, “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, unless a person is born again [reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, sanctified], he cannot [ever] see and experience the kingdom of God.”
John 3:14-21 * This passage explains the extreme love of God, a love that loves the ungrateful wretch.

Footnotes
- The reference to “the life of God“:
“alienated and self-banished
from the life of God”
___________
“for their [moral] understanding is darkened and their reasoning is clouded; [they are] alienated and self-banished from the life of God [with no share in it; this is] because of the [willful] ignorance and spiritual blindness that is [deep-seated] within them, because of the hardness and insensitivity of their heart.”
– Ephesians 4:18. - The way of “I did it my way” is not going to be heard in Heaven… only in Hell. Frank Sinatra sang it. And he was “certain”. But how regretfully tragic for those like him who live in error all their lives. Jesus has His own message. But the world is oblivious, stubbornly saying”do your thing”.
- Source: Exposing a dichotomous heart
Being dichotomous is not a sin thing – but rather a heart thing. Truly born again Christians sin, and sin again, and [then] reject those sins. The dichotomous person sins and… [then] integrates it into their life. Like the rich young ruler, they are not saved. It is a part of what 1 John 3:9 says about salvation and sin:
1 John 3:9
“No one who is born of God
[deliberately, knowingly, and habitually]
practices sin,because God’s seed
[His principle of life, the essence of His righteous character]
remains [permanently]
in him [who is born again
—who is reborn from above
—spiritually transformed, renewed, and set apart for His purpose];and he [who is born again]
cannot habitually [live a life characterized by] sin,
because he is born of God and longs to please Him.”
