Thinking with God’s Word
If you deviate from God’s already-written Word, going with man-made thought, your own thinking… where do you think you’ve taken yourself. Where are you at?
Going with your own thinking because you want it rather than God’s? That’s a loser. You know that, right?
I like the truth sung here, “Better is one day in Your Courts – than a thousand elsewhere.” That same principle is true with all things in life: Better is the thought in His Courts – than a thousand elsewhere.
I choose “the better”. Better is thinking with God’s Word – rather than thinking with a thousand traditions of men.
That is what Evangelicals try to do: think with God. We have failed miserably at times — when errant thought predominates. But I rather think, “Better is one thought as an Evangelical – than a thousand elsewhere.”
Evangelicals “try to” stay within the limits of God’s Word. Whereas the other thousands train their thoughts on the traditions of men. Where are you at with that? Who on earth would elevate their mere traditions… over the concrete expression of God’s Word? I’m astounded by those who do that.
Isaiah 55:8-9 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways And My thoughts than your thoughts.
Think about it: What you think and practice as compared with what Jesus thinks. Think as He does: Think like God Almighty.
Human thought is pretty good, generally, when it’s good. Right? After all – we are “made in the image of God” Genesis 1:27. But when human thought deviates from God’s ways and means, His “methods and resources” MerWeb then you are on the never-ending, slippery slope down, and into “wrong”.
What sort of person are you? Do you make the effort to think with God? Ever grasped that feeling of being wrong with Jesus?
Christians base their thought, and faith, on the Bible. Is that you? What do you base your thoughts on? How strict are you with your thinking? Can you find your thoughts supported in Scripture? If not in Scripture — where do your thoughts come from?
Where do you get your truth from? Answer: The LA Times, the Washington Post, X, AP, internet sites? It’s a scary world out there. The world and its media writers do not care about Jesus and His Word. Are you basing your way of thinking on them? Wow. Scary position.

Your belief system IS your way of thinking. How can your way of thinking NOT affect your decisions on every level?
So then I ask you: What about you? Is YOUR thinking “incidental” to who you are, what you do, the decisions you make, the lifestyle you choose, the political landscape you support…?
If there is no God (to me), then…

- There is no need to be “godly” with my life. Then I say, “To hell with that! I can do whatever!”
- I can morally do whatever the government allows me to do
- I’ll push for laws that allow me to do whatever I want without contraint
- There are no constraints on my behavior except laws… and what? And what?
- If I can get away with it (whatever “it” I choose…) then it’s just okiedokie
- I will push for agendas of whatever is totally freedom in my imagination
- There is no book of rules or guidelines – only my uninhibited, unchained imagination. My “guidebook”, if you must call it that, is “whatever”.
- Christians are therefore repressed, scorned (maybe pitied), incidental, deplorable (perhaps as Hillary quotes put it)
- Christians are the Enemy because they stand for morality and godliness, and the restraints of true agape love

Where are you at?
Born again folk may be born of God, but they can be wrongheaded too. Of course. Certainly. But we are sold-out to Jesus, 100%.
What side are you on, anyway? A pattern is telling. Your pattern of behavior reveals the direction of your unrepentant heart. A pattern of arguing for what Christ taught against, is a pattern that reveals a heart that is NOT following Christ. Surely don’t want to be THERE.
Get on God’s side
Arguing against God’s truths – is a losing proposition. You lose it all in the end.
I’ve placed my faith in the Word of God, the Bible. That is where God’s Think is shown to us, God’s Normal. That is where Holy God can be found.
Are you into God’s Truth? Or, are you living for and arguing your erroneous beliefs and pet peeves which Jesus certainly does not stand for?
Find God and goodness in the cavern of my mind? You’ve got to be kidding me. Not a chance.
God’s Word is what guides my way of life, the habits I try to form (or break), my personal rules of living, my politics, “my loves and hates“, my conclusions on immigration, my love strangers and for my neighbors, my patriotism to the USA, how I think of others who do not agree with me — all that stuff.
I of course am wrong at times. Goes with being a temp in a temporary world. Being “wrong” is part of the reality of being incomplete on earth. But I’m workin’ at it.
Paul put it this way,
Philippians 3:12 Not that I have already grasped it all or have already become perfect, but I press on if I may also take hold of that for which I was even taken hold of by Christ Jesus.
Philippians 2:16 …holding firmly the word of life, so that on the day of Christ I can take pride because I did not run in vain nor labor in vain.
If you put anything above the Word of God, counting it as more valuable, then you are putting yourself in danger of following THAT, instead of God Himself. I sure as Heaven do not want to “run in vain nor labor in vain”.
How about you? Wanting to go be with God… or wanting your own ways and… go to Hell?
“What if God appeared right in front of you, right there where you are, right now, and asked, “I’d like you to come to heaven and enjoy my Kingdom with me.” Would you say, “No”?
What kind of fool would you be!…? You might be thinking, “What kind of fool do you think I am?”

Getting down to God’s Meaning
Too many (as in: one is too many) have s-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-d o-u-t God’s meanings to the point that their message is no longer “of God“. And neither are they! Not really of us. How on earth?! Why pervert the meaning of God’s message to us? Does not make any sense at all to do that.
What is keeping you from yielding to God?
What is it about “your way” that is so appealing?
Don’t you know this!?
…that those who live their own way
will not actually get into God’s Kingdom?
They won’t have even the slightest share in it!

Our biggest concern in life should be this: Am I rightly related to God Almighty?
Or has my thinking been torked, gotten off-kilter, strayed off His path — maybe to the point I have no salvation of a sudden? Has God rejected me — because I’ve accepted what God has condemned? Scary thought.
The Bible is King over all knowledge. And the God of the Bible is my King — over all of me. God is King (not the Bible!). God Himself is my God. No other.
Oh my God – Jesus! You are wonderful beyond imagination.
