My favorite quotes from OMGjesus.org
Like picking out the best apples in the grocery store pile, we do not choose what’s rotten and evil to be in our life – on purpose. But it happens. Bad things happen to us all. And sometimes our old nature slips us a slippery slope, and we slip-up. We fail.
Every so often, or more, depending on our maturing spiritual life at the time… we find our choice was rotten to the core. But we need to recover and get on with living for the Lord in righteousness, in truth and sincerity. And choose aright. This is the Christian life of victory in Christ.

…And we all bow down
Praising Him, just praising Him
And the joy joy joy
All around, all around
Giving Him our all-in-all, giving Him all that we are
And we all bow down, gratefully, so gratefully
He’s accepted us, we are free at last

If we carefully read 1 John 3:1-3 we learn that everyone “in Christ” has “this hope” inside. Everyone. Not the fakers. Not those without Christ. But we do.

I want the graph of my spiritual life to always be angling upward.
So I am paying attention to what I’m seeing in my life — and listening for the still, small voice of the Holy Spirit to move it that way.

His Courts declare me:
born again.
Set free.
No longer condemned to Hell
– because I’ve been redeemed.

Since I am born again into a new life in Christ, I’m not only human, after all. Never again.
Through Christ I am now a new creation of God, and He, by the Holy Spirit, has a special place inside my soul. Like no other “god” could have done, He made my spirit alive so that now I am free from His condemnation and I am no longer a slave to sin. (Romans 6:6; John 8:34)
14 For by the one offering He has perfected forever and completely cleansed those who are being sanctified [bringing each believer to spiritual completion and maturity].

Living with good courage and being confident with hope – comes as a result of living God’s way, staying within what God intended, living “God’s Normal”.

I can stand strong, strong enough to “[successfully] stand up against all the schemes and the strategies and the deceits of the devil.” (Ephesians 6:10-18…verse 11).
The Spirit enables us. So I say… bring it on!
And He promises that nothing will come our way which is too big for us to handle. We can stand up against it — or else He will provide a way of escape. Do not fear, I will help you (Isaiah 41:13). Also see: 1 Corinthians 10:13.

God is active on planet earth.
He did not say “Poof” as He passed on into the further reaches of His Universe. He loved each of us, you, me — even before He created us, uniquely “you”, uniquely “me”.
The Hand of God
The Hand of God is evident all around us. It is up to us to investigate and prove Him for ourselves. Choose Jesus. He is there. He wants to be a part of your life, every day, all the way.

Seeing as how God is our Maker, He sort of knows exactly how things go. You think? He made us! He gave us this life. As His privileged creations, it behooves us to learn what’s the best way to live it! His Word shows us “the best ways”, how to live this life well.

Quoted in Dividing Eternity:
“There is one thing that divides eternity… have you accepted Jesus, or have you rejected Jesus. That’s it. Not how good you were, not how bad you were… JUST acceptance or rejection of Jesus.”

1 John 3:1-3
verse 3 And everyone
who has this hope
[confidently placed]
in Him
purifies himself,
just as He is pure
(holy, undefiled, guiltless).

Quite simple: You are either pro-Jesus, or anti-Jesus. Think about it. You can choose now. What’s it going to be? It’s your choice: forever with Him, or forever without Him.
“For” and “Against”
-
- Pro-Jesus: Are you “for” what Jesus taught “for”,
and “against” what Jesus taught “against”?
Or: - Anti-Jesus: Are you “against” what Jesus was “for”,
and “for” what Jesus taught “against”?
- Pro-Jesus: Are you “for” what Jesus taught “for”,
It is not sincere and truthful to claim you are “following” Jesus if you are AGAINST anything Jesus taught — or FOR what He taught against. You think?

Imagine sin in Heaven.
What what what? No way! Sin!? Sin in God’s Holy Kingdom? What are you thinking: getting God’s holiness but KEEPING your sin?! Not a chance in Hell. You must repent.

There is nothing automatic in my soul, however. My will always comes into play, multiple times every hour. I am no android, after all.
Moment by moment I must choose righteousness. I have options (to sin; to not sin).
My desire moves me. And my desire is Christ. I choose to live in the power of the Holy Spirit. My focus is: living for Him.
…I must guard my heart, I must guard my willfulness, I must guard against the sins that easily beset me, I must guard against the desire of my heart. I must guard my steps.
I must be watchful over how I “do life” (Ephesians 4:17-32) or righteousness will be quite sporadic, a distant ideal, pie-in-the-sky by-and-by.

According to John, it is “a given” that if we genuinely have this hope within us, we will be actively cooperating with the Spirit of God to become purified “just as He is pure”.
Are you cooperating? Or are you not, really? This is one of those easy ways to easily “examine yourselves” as Paul says to do in 2 Corinthians 13:5.

“Without His Holy Justice edict of “forgiven in Christ” — we all remain God-damned. But through Christ – God can legally justify us enough for His Holy presence.
What’s enough? No blemish at all. Think you’ve got that covered yourself!?”

“I want to know what Jesus thinks. Father God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, the great God three-in-one!
God is in charge. He created all. Why would one not want to know what Jesus thinks!”

Jesus was born as a baby boy into our world through Joseph and Mary (although Mary actually got pregnant through an act of God, not through Joseph), grew up to become a real man, both all God and all man, taught and ministered for about 3 years, performed miracles (documented eye witness accounts recorded in the Bible), claimed that He was God, then was crucified at the age of 33 on our behalf. He allowed them to! Even predicted it!
But He did not end “dead”. He resurrected Himself from the dead (which He predicted), was seen alive after His resurrection by hundreds of eye witnesses (recorded in the Bible), then went back to His Throne in Heaven – promising eternal life to any who humble themselves enough to repent and acknowledge Him as God, and follow Him.
