Life gets complicated. And it’s more than easy to just coast right along, not seeing growing changes inside me, oblivious to unconfessed sin, and unaware of how I now live life.
What escapes your notice? Paul encourages us to look carefully at how we live. Examine yourselves, he says 2 Corinthians 13:5. It may be that I have offended God. And so it is important to repent and make adjustments… be a little more Christian every moment of the day.

Excerpt from Taking hate to Holy Heaven? Your ways? Your views?
To paraphrase Jesus’ words in Luke 6:35-36, He said:
Love everyone agape love, even evil people… without demanding something in return for your love – for then you will show yourself to be children of God (“and you will be sons of the Most High“). Like the Father… love — be kind, be gracious, be good, be merciful (“responsive, compassionate, tender”) — even “to the ungrateful and the wicked”.
There are those who say they are Christian, but don’t live it. Are you liking Jesus – but not enough to conform to what He taught and lived? You a fraud?
The Old Testament tells us “the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom”. Have you begun yet?
See 4 Bible results for “beginning of wisdom”.
Proverbs 9:10 AMP
“The [reverent] fear of the Lord [that is, worshiping Him and regarding Him as truly awesome] is the beginning and the preeminent part of wisdom [its starting point and its essence],
And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding and spiritual insight.”
Reverence God
The old term for fear means reverence. Reverence for Christ is what gives us the ability to be submissive to other believers Ephesians 5:20-21. How’s your “reverence” quotient?
When we start having trouble getting along with others, it helps to examine our “reverence” quotient. Having deep reverence for Jesus helps us think of the interests of others more highly.

When we have a deep “reverence” for Jesus, then we can more easily think more highly of others Philippians 2:3 and “subject yourselves to one another“. The verse says we do the subjecting of ourselves to another — in the reverence of Christ. Makes sense to me.
Our devotion to, and reverence for Jesus affects how we treat others. If our attitude toward Jesus is lackadaisical MerWeb – lacking life, spirit, or zest – languid, or deficient, then we lack the attitude of an obedient follower of Jesus.
Reverence for others think more highly of another
The result is lack of love for others. Are you able to think more highly of another – more than you think of yourself?
Found in Luke, the attitude of the righteous is what John the Baptist, the “forerunner”, had:
“seek and submit to the will of God“
Agape love
If we habitually do this with God, we can learn how to habitually do this with others… show more agape love to others.
Luke 1:17 “It is he who will go as a forerunner before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers back to the children, and the disobedient to the attitude of the righteous [which is to seek and submit to the will of God]—in order to make ready a people [perfectly] prepared [spiritually and morally] for the Lord.”
Philippians 2:3
Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit
[through factional motives, or strife],
but with [an attitude of] humility
[being neither arrogant nor self-righteous],
regard others as more important than yourselves.

With so much evil growing, it is getting more and more difficult to think like God thinks. In these End Days, or, as Jesus put it 1

The Dangers of Consorting with Error Excerpt: Consorting with Error
Sometimes discernment is tough for the professing Christian. Wanting to stay faithful to Jesus is a rough row to hoe. Sometimes life sucks. And tempting siren songs are rife (1 John 5:19).
Faithlessness often starts
real simple:
“consorting” with the enemy.
It’s chancy to consort, to pal around with bad company. It’s a real battle – to be “in the world but not of the world”.
Jesus ate with those who were not following God. True.
But He went in with strength, and His eyes wide open. He knew their lifestyle was antithetical MirWebster to His teachings. He was a special “ambassador”, so to speak – ready for anything. We are to be that, also (2 Corinthians 5:20). Right?
Hoeing your row…a rough row to hoe
