Relating well with God
I am overwhelmingly focused on relating properly to this God I’ve learned about in the Bible. How ’bout you?
I’ve given-over my heart to Jesus. He is my Savior and Lord.
And I’m learning.
He’s changing me over time. I’m much different now than I was 73 years ago! Ask my wife. She’s been with me for 51 years.
I’m a stand up guy meaning. I’m naturally prone to disobey Romans 7:15, buck the tide, stand my ground, and do my own thing. God is still teaching me Philippians 2:3 to keep tight reins over my wild and crazy stallion heart.
I’m so bad that I’ve developed a little habit of frequent repentance which helps me be more consistent: conforming to be more like Jesus Romans 12:2, Job 22:21. How do you deal with the sins in your life, eh?
All that to say: There is nothing more important to me than relating well with God. Who but you oh Lord?
If I’m well with Him, it is well with my soul. I really do rather prefer going to Heaven – than going to Hell. I’m amazed that some folk do not.
Question for you:
By the way you’re living it… what are the odds of you going to Hell?
God has communicated to us what He expects of us. Are you running with it – or against it – or …don’t care?
The Bible is the most amazing book ever. It was put together by God over the course of hundreds of years, by writers He Himself inspired to know what to write, and those writers were not in collusion with each other — being separated by distance and time.
Excerpt from God’s message to the world
God Revealed Himself
The common thread through all we experience is – God Almighty. God has revealed Himself as Creator by the awesome universe and this world of constant wonders. Obvious to seeking minds, even our own body shows us intricate elements of intense design that only God could create.
The Bible is another way God revealed Himself to us.
Over the course of hundreds of years, God inspired men of God to write what would eventually contain God’s comunication to the world. And Jesus said – if you accept what I have said to you (through the Bible), and if you follow what I have revealed to you (to all of us), then you will be “favored by God”.

Scripture tells us:
2 Timothy 3:16
All Scripture is God-breathed [given by divine inspiration] and is profitable for instruction, for conviction [of sin], for correction [of error and restoration to obedience], for training in righteousness [learning to live in conformity to God’s will, both publicly and privately—behaving honorably with personal integrity and moral courage]
One day slides into another, and soon I’m a year older. Over the years I’ve seen that it’s easy to just slide along with life. And in that, it is easy to “back slide”, stray away from where I wanted to be. So I’ve learned to keep a tight ship.
The ones who will be
blessed throughout eternity –
are “those who hear the word of God
and continually observe it.”
– Source: God’s message to the world
It’s the “continually observe it” part that is hard for me. How ’bout you?
FOR MORE:
There is nothing more important in life than relating properly to this God I’ve learned about in the Bible. Are you concerned about your relationship with God? Even got one? To understate it: This is important.
_________
Relating well with God
Keeping sin AND getting God’s Holiness also…Staying the course
Think about it. Have you strayed from the Truth?…stray away is to stay away eternally
What are the odds of you going to Hell?…Really! Think about it. Verify. Know that you know you know
I just want to go to Hell. Don’t you?…some folk do. Excerpt:
so I just know I’ll go to Hell, won’t you?…

once saved always saved *Read more about this very real doctrine the Bible teaches
Don’t rely on “once saved always saved” theology Excerpt: I totally believe in the promise: once saved always saved. After all, THAT is what the Bible teaches.
However…. There is power in the words. Read it again: once saved….
** Were you, really saved? Were you ever even saved in the first place? We are exhorted in Scripture to prepare well for our eternity.
See more about that here: What was it like – your confession to Jesus?, Was your confession accepted by God (It could be – not.), Odd Christian Things
Why we never lose our salvation in Christ…never again
Being saved means forever never again condemned…THAT is what the Bible teaches
What God secures – You cannot “lose”
Can I become unsaved for any reason?
The Security of the True Believer
You Can Never Lose Your Salvation, and Here’s Why! | by Andrew Farley | crosswalk.com; | Author of The Grace Message, and The Perfect You: God’s Invitation to Live from the Heart Excerpt: How can we be certain that Paul was not speaking to believers who had lost their salvation? Notice the contrast between “you” and “we” in the passage here:
4 You have been severed from Christ,
you who are seeking to be justified
by the Law;
you have fallen from grace.
5 For we,
through the Spirit,
by faith, are waiting
for the hope of righteousness.
– Galatians 5:4-5 NASB
SWIFT NOTE: There is no grace in the Law. Galatians 5:4-5 NASB
It is “you who are seeking to be justified by the Law” that are …severed from Christ. They who try to get saved by any other means — are not saved, but “severed from Christ” because of their unbelief. They are “fallen from grace”, a grace they never claimed and never had. It is “through the Spirit” that new birth happens – and “we, through the Spirit, by faith, are waiting for the hope of righteousness”. Those who seek new birth “by the Law”… never are in Christ (thus “severed from…”), never are justified, because there is no grace in the Law.
Galatians 5:22-23 | Philippians 1:21-30 | Hebrews 6:13
[born anew]
into an inheritance
which is imperishable
[beyond the reach of change]
and undefiled
and unfading,
reserved in heaven for you
– 1 Peter 1:4
Who but you oh Lord? Excerpt: Who can I look to for this day? Who but You oh Lord. I trust in Jesus. He is my Friend.
“…Thank you for who You are and what you’ve become to me
Who but You reached down in love to this poor soul that day
Oh glorious moment I will forever grateful be
You saved me from my sin and birthed me once again to new life
I’m living new because you changed me to be yours forevermore
Your grace not my strength allows me to continue serving you alone
Your Spirit guides me keeps me lifts me up to serve you yet another day
Keep me ready steady able for the day you take me Home….”
What if? God looks inside your soul and says “I am not your Lord”
Running with sin and calling it “just fine with me”
Holy Father Lord of all…God Almighty Excerpt: Sitting here before you Lord, my Holy Father, Lord of All, I’m so aware that I’m not holy.
…cleansing me so I can come here
confess again repent rejoice
I’m a child of The King forever…
…I know for sure by faith in You
You’ve told me and repeat again
these things are written
so I may know that I’ve been saved
1 John 1:9
I am convinced and confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will [continue to] perfect and complete it until the day of Christ Jesus [the time of His return].
– Philippians 1:6
Accepting all that Jesus Christ is and does
It’s time to give it up for Jesus
Prepare Your Eternity with great fear and trepidation…prepare well for our eternity Excerpt: The Bible contrasts the two sides of eternity: Heaven and Hell. It is extremely advisable to examine our “eternal preparedness”. Are you prepared? Make sure you have correctly interpreted God in His Word. If you have not, there will be Hell to pay. Nobody can accept His salvation – and reject His Words.
____________
Romans 11:20
“…They were broken off because of their unbelief, but you stand by your faith [as believers understanding the truth of Christ’s deity]. Do not be conceited, but [rather stand in great awe of God and] fear [Him]“
Why we should fear God Almighty Excerpt: Have you taken the specific steps toward salvation in Jesus? Will you pass away into the light of God’s presence OR pass over into darkness and condemnation? It’s your choice now. But after you die — well then, there are no second chances over there. Believe in Jesus!
There’s not a chance in Hell
to receive God’s forgiveness.
The Way to Salvation always involves obedience to Jesus
Accepting all that Jesus Christ is and does
Confirm & Affirm why Jesus will accept me
Outward religion but inward… everything unclean
Saying no to Jesus is a dead faith with dead works
Reckless faith | Quotes from a neglected book, Reckless Faith, by John MacArthur.
“Neo-orthodoxy is the term used to identify an existentialist variety of Christianity. Because it denies the essential objective basis of truth—the absolute truth and authority of Scripture—neo-orthodoxy must be understood as pseudo-Christianity.”
Being tested to know for sure your faithfulness to God
As if your mindset is protected by God
God’s grace teaches us to reject sin
Are Christians to remain hog-tied and silent in the face of evil?
In Christ I am a strong person
Mark them which cause divisions …and avoid them
“By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error”
Yes I can – I can stand strong
Are You Ready, Steady and Able?
Is yours a “sound doctrine” that Jesus will approve?
What is “sound doctrine” and what is “a different doctrine”?
Was your confession accepted by God
You’ve chosen not to accept Him. Why?
I just want to go to Hell, don’t you?
Interesting the way Hell will be eternal Excerpt: We see in 1 John 2:17 that it is in Heaven where one lives forever – not Hell. Hell is a “forever dead” space – because it is God Damned. Hell will continue the “lusts [the shameful pursuits and ungodly longings]” — but never ever reaching fulfillment… whatsoever.
“Living”?!
There, in Hell,
you walk dead.
Can being in a place
“devoid of God’s goodness”
be called “living”?!
What are the odds of you going to Hell?
Trying God’s patience too long
Hell is my last choice, last on my list, not what I really want

Can Jesus Forgive You? Excerpt: Are you walking dead, deep in sin, too far gone for God to care? How sinful can one be – and yet be forgiven by God? …There is no sin, no lifetime of sin – which God cannot deal with. God can forgive you.
God forgives all wrongdoings of all repentant sinners, no exception
Right on the edge of trusting Him forever
The way to salvation always involves obedience to Jesus…can’t be bad, right – always obeying Jesus?
